Attention snack fanatics—the Lay’s celebration of the year is here. After a seven-year hiatus, the 2025 "Do Us a Flavor" contest has officially come to a close, giving us a brand-new million-dollar flavor.
If you’re not familiar with the snack sweepstakes, it’s a competition run by Frito-Lay to crowdsource the next big chip flavor fans will love. Instead of keeping the product testing internal, Lay’s puts it in the hands of the people, asking fans for flavor inspiration and relying on their votes to choose what hits store shelves. Oh yeah, and the winner takes home a $1 million prize.
Over the years, the contest has brought us crave-worthy and wildly creative flavors like Crispy Taco, Southern Biscuits & Gravy, Cheesy Garlic Bread, and Wavy Fried Green Tomato. And this year, it delivered yet another chip you won’t be able to stop snacking on.

Bacon grilled cheese huh? I'm not going to lie I'm tempted. I did try the biscuits and gravy one a long time ago.. I'm not a huge chip person but this sounds good.

To me bacon flavor has a very unpleasant taste and sort of industrial smell

Ketchup flavored Lays are amazing, I just wish they sold them in the U.S.
Old Bay Lays might be worth a small run to test the waters. Or dusting with the chili cheese or honey barbecue flavors from Fritos.

I have seen them in either Illinois or Wisconsin. I certainly have them when in Canada.
 Two flavors I miss:
 1. Charles' Chips Hickory Smoked
 2. State Line New England Style (sour cream and clams).

I think it would be healthier to just fry up some bacon.

Someone gave us a bag of the honey butter ones. They were strange.
 Not bad, but strange.

How DARE you utter such sacrilege! Bacon is ALWAYS good - at ALL times.

I, too, favor bacon, IF it’s bacon:
People also ask
What is artificial bacon flavor made of?
soy
Mostly soy. To get more specific, let’s take a look at the ingredients list for McCormick’s Bac’n Bits. They contain “Texturized Soy Flour, Canola Oil, Salt, Caramel Color, Yeast Extract, Natural & Artificial Flavor, FD&C Red 40 & Disodium Inosinate and Guanylate (Flavor Enhancers).”Aug 7, 2024

The wife and I enjoy the yearly limited availability of Ruffles “All Dressed” chips.
It’s almost like there’s a SEASON for them. Which isn’t now unfortunately. (Yes, I know I can order them from Canada on Amazon/eBay).

    I guess I’m weird - I like potato flavor.

    I liked the Reuben-flavored Lays.

    What about Vienna Sausage Lays?

To: ChicagoConservative27
These are so excellent but not easy to find:

They're more like wavy Lays than tough kettle and the flavor is addictive.
But hats off to Lays for Fritos. NO ONE has been able to duplicate or surpass that corn chip.
