So this video has recently gone viral again so I'm just gonna leave it here and let you guys talk it over in the comments. I give you, plus-size travelers and their complaints about traveling comfortably:
We're plus-sized travelers — of course we think about if we need a second seat before we book a flight.
We're plus-sized travelers — of course we ask for the seatbelt extender as soon as we board the flight.
We're plus-sized travelers — of course we're expected to pay more, just to travel comfortably.
"Fat acceptance" has turned into its own bizarre Marxist grievance study at this point, where the hegemonic power structures of normal society (like, you know, airplanes and stuff) are actively oppressing the morbidly obese.
Eat a salad. !!!!!!!
This is the answer.
Well said.
And healthier diets and exercising more often.
Love, Wesley
it is so easy to criticize the obese amongst us but
SOMETIMES it is medical and not just gluttonry
at any event, the damned airlines have been skinnying down the seats way too much!! and cutting leg room too
Well, that’s half of the equation there. I’m not too fat, I’m too short. Another 18 inches in height and I would be considered normal. It’s not my fault I am genetically short.
Looks a lot more comfortable than the red nylon.
nothings worse than being trapped next to someone who spills into your seat space. you should be able to pick “no fat seatmates “ when you pick a seat
Watching a plus-size man struggle to do anything basic, inhaling extra food like a shop vac on a flight Chicago to Paris. Claustrophobic.
I am 62. I was 213 pounds and 5’ 9” beginning of December.
My wife and I started intermittent fasting for 36 hour periods twice a week. Nothing else.
I work in an office job. I do a lot of work around the house.
I am now 187. Down 26 pounds. The first 10-12 pounds was easy. I am slowly trying to get back to 175.
FYI, after 35 years old I went from 31” to 32” to 34” to 36” to 38” pants. I am now back in 36”. I can squeeze into 34s.
My only flight on a 747 was Lufthansa to Frankfurt, Germany from New York (transfer). I was seated between two obese German males who were charter members of the bath a year club. It was a very gross flight with my elbows tucked to my ribs for 9 hours.
The harsh reality is that weight and balance matters for aircraft flight safety. I've been on small twin turbo aircraft where a game of music chairs was played at the gate to move the fatties around after the luggage was fully loaded. Rearranging the 250 lb to 400 lb passengers is critical to safe flight. The "standard passenger" for FAA seating is based on 180 lb persons.
Obese people are also a safety hazard, in case of emergency exit in a hurry.............
Flying has become a pain for everyone—not just fat people!
It’s an addiction, like to addictive drugs, to pornography, to gambling. It’s not easy to kick any addiction.
But in this scenario, it does cause problems for fellow passengers. The seating on commercial airplanes is too narrow for almost any adult.
It’s absolutely obnoxious to have to sit next to these folks in a crowded plane. Sorry, I’m paying to get somewhere, not to keep your fat rolls warm.
