Memorial Day is for remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
As Americans honor the day in their own ways, people across the country will be participating in a tough fitness challenge honoring fallen Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy.
The challenge, known as "the Murph," consists of a variety of strength training and cardio activities, which Murphy himself used to complete during SEAL training.
Murphy’s former SEAL roommate, Kaj Larsen, told Fox News Digital how he also participated in these workouts, which have turned into a national movement of patriotism.
"Murph and I would often run to the pull-up bars and then do this workout where we did 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups and 300 air squats, and then we'd run back to our barracks room," Larsen said.

If I ever have to face vigorous exercise I lie down a few minutes and the mood passes.
Haha
Is there a section for us 92-year-olds?
I can do 5 pushups...😢
Yeah, like I have a dog named “Five Miles” so I can say I walked five miles every day ... that’s it.
Ha
Yikes
1-mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1-mile run
I wonder if I can do that at my age? I probably better not try, someone could injured.
Not even 1% of the population under 40 years could do this.
Good for you!!
Lol
That being said, I just checked out videos of some people supposedly doing this, and I'll just say that I'm skeptical of some of them being able to get 5 pullups, much less 100.
Right out of boot camp I was a pull-up machine... they stopped me at 30 to get other boots through the testing... I think O could have given them 45-50. I always hated running though... I nordic’d and rowed and swam for my cardio, now I squat about 60 or so throughout the day, and walk occasionally.
This test is balls-to-the-wall crazy!
I do squats every day because I placed my beer on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator for the exercise.
I am a middle aged short female with a bum knee. I do well to do my gardening. Can't see very well either although that is going to be fixed shortly.
My son was in USMC boot camp in 2001. He had to do 20 pullups. I tried to match that. I made it to 19. Ok for an out of shape 45 year old.
I did this 5 years ago at the age of 60. Without the weighted vest. Took me about 45 minutes. I can’t do it now due to shoulder pain in my right shoulder but I could still do it.
I wonder if the pushups and pullups were single events...I used to be able to do 125 pushups but only 42 pullups at single shots - would have taken me a few goes to get to 300 and 200 - the squats and running would have been a piece of cake.
Wow
