The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says a previously announced recall of certain bags of Lay’s potato chips in Oregon and Washington now falls into “Class I” status, its highest risk level.
The FDA’s update means the agency found “reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
Frito-Lay issued a recall of a limited number of 13-ounce bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips in December due to undeclared milk in the product, after being alerted through a consumer contact.
The original recall announcement said, “Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.”
Bags of the chips were distributed to certain retail stores and e-commerce companies in Oregon and Washington, with available purchases being made as early as Nov. 3.
Frito-Lay is urging individuals who have purchased the recalled chips to discard the product immediately and contact their consumer relations department with any additional concerns.
The bags had a freshness date of Feb. 11.
Thought is was an accidental re-introduction of Oltestra. Would have been some good LOLs.
Oltestra = Olestra
What’s next with this crazy department? Warning about undeclared potatoes?
I understand lactose intolerance, but I can’t remember a report of anaphylactic death from milk.
Wasn’t that the stuff that gave you the drizzling shits?
Lay’s potato chips are a health hazard even when they’re “ok.”
Imagine getting sick eating a $5.00 bag of chips.
Part of the artificial food shortage?
Legacy FDA officials struggling to remain relevant?
“Imagine getting sick eating a $5.00 bag of chips.”
Not too long ago it was a $2.00 bag of chips ...
Lame.
All while the vax music continues to play.
Lay’s potato chips are a health hazard even when they’re “ok.”Because nobody can eat just one. 😉
Baloney, I’ve never heard of someone dropping dad from an extremely small microdose of milk. And if they are that delicate, they shouldn’t be eating a potato chip in the first place.
Prepare for possible “anal leakage”.

"A new federal law requiring that sesame be listed as an allergen on food labels is having unintended consequences — increasing the number of products with the ingredient.
Food industry experts said the requirements are so stringent that many manufacturers, especially bakers, find it simpler and less expensive to add sesame to a product — and to label it — than to try to keep it away from other foods or equipment with sesame.
As a result, several companies — including national restaurant chains like Olive Garden, Wendy’s, and Chick-fil-A and bread makers that stock grocery shelves and serve schools — are adding sesame to products that didn’t have it before."
Olestra is now used as deck stain and power tool lubricant.
I am not making this up.
