How Trump’s tariff threats may help unseat Canada’s Justin Trudeau

When he came to power in 2015, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was hailed as a progressive icon, a charismatic leftist with movie star good looks who promised to reform elections, tackle climate change and legalize marijuana. He quickly became one of the world’s best-known political figures, known for agenda-setting liberal policies — and for taking selfies with enraptured fans.

“He was seen as this Canadian rock star,” said Duane Bratt, a political scientist at Mount Royal University in Calgary.

Nine years later, Trudeau is deeply unpopular at home and fighting for his job amid growing calls that he step down.

Voters blame Trudeau for Canada’s sluggish economy, housing crisis and near-record levels of immigration. For months now, polls have shown that it is highly unlikely that he could lead his Liberal Party to victory in the next election, which is due by Oct. 20 of next year.

The election of Donald Trump last month has made things worse for Trudeau.

Conservatives and even members of his own Liberal Party insist he isn’t doing enough to counter Trump, who has threatened to levy heavy tariffs on imports from Canada, and who has trolled Trudeau in recent weeks by repeatedly describing him as “governor” of a 51st American state.

This week, one of Trudeau’s staunchest allies, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, abruptly resigned over her disagreement with Trudeau’s approach to Trump.

In a sharply worded letter announcing her departure, Freeland accused Trudeau of embracing “costly political gimmicks” instead of directly confronting the U.S. leader and of putting his own interests ahead of the best interests of Canadians.

Freeland’s resignation, part of a recent exodus of Cabinet members, has thrown Trudeau’s government into disarray and prompted fresh demands from members of his caucus and other allied parties that he...

I thought Canada was going to hold a vote of "confidence". A no confidence vote would require earlier elections. Or am I thinking of another Nation?

Or, in 2015, some of us hailed him as a progressive ASSHAT!

In 1978, his (supposed) father, Pierre Trudeau (aka Rocky Waterhole) spoke at my high school. He was given a standing ovation as he entered the auditorium, except by four of us, who gave him a rousing round of "BOOOS"!

I didn't like Rocky Waterhole and, from his election as Leader of the Lieberal Party, I absolutely disliked Justin(e) Castreau.

My dislike grew to absolute, and total loathing of the sociopath, Castreau, during the CCP-Coronavirus CONdemic.

My wish is that an election is forced very soon, that Castreau even loses his seat in the House of Commons, and in desperation, avails himself of MAiD.

And what gender making up more than half the population would have voted for that other than beta male cucks and fags? Need more proof? California.

There have been three ‘non-confidence’ votes, in the last few months, all having failed.

The UUUUGE problem is the socialist/communist self-serving, New Democratic Party! In spite of its leader, Jagmeet ‘Jughead’ Singh’s continual bleating about how Castreau MUST resign, how terrible he is, he WILL NOT allow his members to vote ‘non-confidence’, to get Castreau out!

Why? He says that, “All things are on the table.” when asked if he WILL vote non-confidence. Another ‘Dipper (an NDP executive), stated that they might be ready to vote out the Lieberals in late February or early March. Coincidentally, ‘Jughead’s $multi-million parliamentary pension is vested on February 25, 2025. Of course it is just coincidence!

IF Canaduh survives, both the Lieberals and ‘Dippers are FINISHED as political parties. Hopefully l, those deserving of punishment for crimes against the Canadian public, WILL get charged, convicted, and SEVERELY punished!

Thank you for the update. I miss the Canada of old. I still remember how they helped six Americans escape from the Iranian hostage crisis. It was quite the risk and gesture.

To me it appears that the average Canadian, along with those in Germany, France, Belgium, etc. are getting tired of their leaders' socialism and flooding their home lands with illegal muslim criminal masses. I believe President Trump is going to have a huge impact on Western Europe.

Yesterday was the last day of MPs being in the House of Commons. Most of them by now, have left d'Ottawa, home for the holidays AND attending to things in their ridings (US: Districts). Government is not back in session until January 27, 2025.

What happens January 20, 2025? PDJT inauguration. What happens either in the PM that day or, the next morning? 25% tariffs on everything the US imports from PRC (Politically Repressive Canaduh).

Where is Justin Castreau in the midst of all this?

Neither Jughead Singh nor Justin(e) Castreau GaS about destroying Canaduh and destroying Canadians. Perhaps, if PDJT DID annex Canaduh, it would be BETTER for Canadians. Annexing Canaduh as the 51st State, Canadians would then be Americans and PDJT LOVES Americans, and WOULD DO ANYTHING for Americans. Beats the HE🏒🏒 out of how the two bastid leaders of the 'Dippers and Lieberals treat Canadians!

Perhaps time for the Ceaușescu treatment!
