Or the same reason he is saying they will only deport the worst of the worst criminals when in 2016 he said he would deport all of them.

Talking about the assassination attempt is somewhat socially destabilizing (e.g., Banana Republic) and the approach to Nov 5 will likely be rocky enough, with the Deep State using riots when/wherever possible.(DNC ‘protests’).

This happened on live TV so MAGA won’t forget. Yes the MSM certainly memory-holed it.

Note that the Deep State talking heads tried to portray Trump as ‘psychologically’ damaged by the attempt (e.g., not fit to run or lead).

Trump’s candidacy is powerful enough based on Biden’s problems, Trump’s solutions etc.

I think that Trump has concluded that the FBI and the Secret Service are dirty. Right now, he can’t do anything about that, and it might be unwise for him to very vocal about that. But in January, I think he and RFK Jr are going to be a lot more vocal.

While the OP and others here may not agree, i think he’s more interested in having people vote for him on policy and principle rather than sympathy.

I for one will gladly vote for Trump a third time, I really think he can be pretty obnoxious at times. That said i see his policies and principles as essential to make America great again.

It's prudent not to get ahead of the evidence when the FBI has control over large swaths of it. They could selectively leak (as they already have demonstrated) evidence to misrepresent the truth.

For example:

What the FBI showed (on the right) was not Crooks' backpack (on the left) and purposely left out key information.

If PDJT went after the story before all crucial evidence comes out, the left will have fodder to use to further crucify PDJT, even though in the larger picture, it's quite clear that the many layers of the USSS' seeming incompetence--each of which was so improbable and against their rigorous training--could only have happened as part of a larger plan to take out PDJT.

Because the only narrative then would be “he’s using this random violent act to garner sympathy”. What about all the people who are killed by gun violence?

This is August, there may come a time later when the public is starting to pay attention to the election when some ads about the attempt will have an effect.

The assassination attempt was an event. Events don’t give people hope about their children’s future or about their ability to pay their bills. Trump needs to stick to policy and to Harris’ incompetence. The attempt shouldn’t be cheapened by being used a campaign prop.

Because it has no meaning. “They tried to kill me”. OK what does that have to do with domestic policy? Foreign policy? Governmental style? Cabinet appointments? At the very least a candidate has to say pointless gobbledygook about the actual job they intend to do. “They tried to kill me” isn’t a campaign.
