Security service officials had would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks on their radar for almost an hour before he shot Donald Trump, a new image reveals.
A photograph showing the 20-year-old sniper appearing to crawl on the ground while scouring the area was circulated to law enforcement as a suspicious sighting at 5:30pm the Butler, Pennsylvania rally on July 14.
Around 6.10pm, Crooks took up a position on the slanted roof and shot at Trump from a distance of around 165 yards, wounding him in the ear and killing retired fire chief Corey Comperatore.
Two more newly-released images also show a bicycle owned by Crooks which was recovered close to the scene, and a remote detonator which was recovered from his dead body alongside his cellphone.
It was later revealed that the detonator was connected to explosives found in his car.

Trump needs to hire the Security Team that was protecting RFK Jr. But if RFK Jr is smart he kept still kept them.
The story keeps changing
All security plans should be approved by the Rep from SC and old rally’s need to be studied.
CIA has been working on this for a while. There is no way Crooks pulled this together on his own……..
The Left is now claiming Crooks (his family) is NOT a Biden donor.
Have you read anything contradicting what we heard Sunday about his political affiliation. (It is clear he registered as a Republican to vote against Trump in the primary.)
“I would think that the crawling on the ground part is what made him suspicious. The more info that comes out, the more that it looks like they wanted Crooks to be successful.”
If true... In this day and age.. SOMEBODY with a cell phone would have seen and likely recorded it.. Would be interesting if that was captured and any sort of LEOs might be recorded as watching this.
Perhaps he was checking to make sure that the Secret Service comms had been successfully disabled by his co-conspirator.
My read is that the CIA/FBI ran this op—with a little help from the Governor of PA.
Wow, I'm beginning to think giving that to the FIB would be like giving your dog a burger and telling him to guard it until you get back. I would say the next time you see that burger it would be in an entirely different form all together..
I’m having a problem understanding something. I get it that he used his Dad’s rifle. What I’m having trouble with is, HOW does a 20 year old get his hands on all of the other stuff- remote detonators? I suppose a smart kid could figure out how to make one, but it seems odd that he should have the stuff he had. A 20 year old buying rifle ammo? Maybe in that state it’s legal. Not in Illinois…
I keep hearing about this water tower. Have you ever been on a water tower? I have. There is a walkway about 2 feet across around the tower. Not a good place to set up. Snipers were in a good spot as is. Only problem was, LE let a 20 y.o., with a rifle, onto a roof with a clear view of Trump at only 130 yards. It’s hard to guard against stupidity.
His Mother is a Democrat and his Dad is a Libertarian.
I was wondering what he planned to do with the explosives.
Remore detonators.

My understanding is that LEO found explosives in his car near the rally site. If he had a car, why did he need a bicycle?
I love how many news outlets call him the “suspected shooter” even though he was caught in the act and killed with the murder weapon in his hand.
At the same time, they label poor Ashley Babbit a terrorist insurrectionist.
He parked his van on a nearby residential street but the residents said the street was closed for security so the wondered how he get in.
First, we were told he walked. Then there was the van. Now he has a bike. How many hit men were there that SS ignored?
