This CANNOT be TRUE!!! ARE PARENTS THAT STUPID TODAY ALSO???
I think the tone here is basically, “These kids are a problem.”
But it’s more accurate to say, “These parents have really done an awful job.” I believe that’s primary on Gen X.
And I would add that Baby Boomer Barack Obama told us he would “fundamentally transform” this country. And he did.
Kids in their early 20s today are screwed pretty badly. And I think only a small part of the blame is theirs. It’s the older people who have done the real damage.
Can’t retire before seeing something like that happen and booting them out. Then retire once I find out it was allowed by higher ups.
bwahahaha
all companies really want to hire is obiedent manikins anyway.
I have to admit, that even surprises me, and I thought nothing could surprise me anymore.
I haven’t heard this particular thing, but ... A friend told me that he had hired a Gen Z guy. The next day, the guy’s mommie called him and instructed him as how her boy expects to be spoken to. LOL!
I literally would not know what to say to an applicant or a parent who came to the kid’s interview. That feels like me walking into a Navy recruiting office and saying I want to command an aircraft carrier.
I think you just laugh? Maybe you think it’s a prank? Has anyone here ever had such an applicant?
I volunteer with a boys Christian outdoor adventure group called Trail Life USA.
A very small number of young men earn out pinnacle award called the Freedom Award. (It’s similar to Eagle Scout but actually more difficult)
When a young man is working towards that award, I refuse to deal with his parents. All communication is through him. (Our youth protection rules require adults be copied on all comms, but they don’t participate in the conversation)
The boy is soon to be a legal adult doing an adult project and is thus treated as such.
There is a final interview with the candidate and several adults. Parents are not allowed to attend.
I’ve hired a few 16-17 year olds that brought a parent with. They just “observed” and helped with ID/SSN info if I hired them..
18+? ya, thanks for coming in, NEXT!
obviously this is a lie or a huge distortion. Shame on Gateway Pundit—they have sank a notch in my estimation.
INTERVIEWER: And just exactly why should I hire your kid? If your child fails to maintain our standards, will YOU be ready to step in and do the job?
1) Generational stereotyping is for idiots.
2) This isn’t the first time the practice of bringing parents to a job interview has made the news. I first saw references to it at least 20 years ago.
Isn’t this and stuff like this really about mothers who divorced the dad or are single? In other words our generations being raised by women?
Since the author agrees that this is utterly stupid why does he keep referring to them as “the child” or “children”? They are 18+ years old, i.e. adults. The author is making the same mistake as the idiotic parents, not treating them as adults.
When my kids went off to college, they knew how to grocery shop, cook, and do their own laundry. And they were some of the very few who did.
They had to teach their friends how to do their own laundry.
Misinformation.
That wss just Daddy with his shotgun making sure Junior gets a job and out of the danged house!
But they can choose their gender!
I’m surprised they didn’t bring a lawyer.
WOW!!! Speechless, mommy help me...
