I literally would not know what to say to an applicant or a parent who came to the kid’s interview. That feels like me walking into a Navy recruiting office and saying I want to command an aircraft carrier.
I think you just laugh? Maybe you think it’s a prank? Has anyone here ever had such an applicant?

The worst applicant I ever had was a young man who would not shut up. Continuously talked for the entire interview. I could hardly get a question in.................

Yes, but awhile back (I don't do hiring anymore). Back in 1997, I was interviewing for an IT position (desktop support, nothing huge). The young man was perfectly on time... and so was his mother. I had to see where it was going so I kept her in the room. She didn't say anything once I started the interview but now and again, the kid would look at her, she would nod, and then he'd answer the question. Felt like she was his attorney or something. I didn't hire him, but it wasn't the mother-thing -- he just wasn't up to it. But, man, that was weird.
Not as weird as one applicant who, in the middle of the interview tried to hook me up with his mom, but close.

Actually a lot of parents go to the recruiting center with their sons and or daughters. In fact, the recruiter came to my house and my parents say there (it was there home after all). Plus they had to sign the papers as I was still a senior in high school. I guess it’s different then actually going to an official job interview.
