Study reveals nearly half of US EV drivers want to return to ICE cars and nearly one-third, globally. The media is baffled.
I corrected the statement that the video was about Telsa owners in Australia. The study they used does not agree with the one you linked but that is not surprising it depends who is asked and how questions are phrased.
I did not make a comment about Telsa/EV cars. That said I would not consider buying one. As an only car they are a strikingly poor choice in much of America. With weather related evacuations common in much of America the chances of getting stuck in an evacuation traffic stoppage for days in poor weather are not worth risking. IMO reliability in an emergency is the single most important aspect of auto choice.
Like owning a car w/o gas stations.
Unlike you, most buy EVs to virtue signal and willing to pay twice the price for half the car.
“With weather related evacuations common in much of America the chances of getting stuck in an evacuation traffic stoppage for days in poor weather are not worth risking. “
That would also apply to ICE cars. But in reality, you are exaggerating ...
I knew from the get go that there was no way I would EVER buy an electric car.
I bought what is probably my last car, a new, gas-powered Honda Accord, about 3 years ago now. Like prior Toyotas I have owned, it was well-built, affordable, but just a little short on the interior room I might want (which only really matters on long trips, which I expect to be taking fewer of).
The technology may eventually get to the point where electric vehicles truly are competitive with gas vehicles. Just not in my lifetime (I am 64).
My next car may very well be a 60’s era Ford Falcon.
Gee whiz, never saw that coming. /s
I have a new 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 on order and that's one of reasons why. That and speed limiters and kill switches. I'm 70, so this is probably the last truck I get that's set up for towing. If it lasts 10 years, then definitely the last truck I'll own.
The thing is, it should be the consumers themselves who decide what people can buy, not the untouchable GovCo types who feel the need to regulate and control us, our world and our “free” market choices.
No I am not exaggerating and it is not the same w/ICE cars. Gasoline can be delivered to cars stalled in major evacuation jams.
“No I am not exaggerating “
When was the last evacuation where people were stuck for days on the highway?
I always do the opposite of what Joe Biden and the Demos would have me do. It seems to be serving me well.
Ha. We have 2 1965 Dodge Darts. One with an awesome 318 in it, 4 door. The other has a dead slant 6, but it IS a 2 door post, and we have a brand new slant 6 engine we’ve been holding on to for 30+ years. Was thinking about selling them, but with the way things have been going, we’re kind of in wait and see mode.
You are entitled to your opinions.
I am not going to justify mine to you.
There have been many evacuations that resulting in highways becoming parking lots

My wife has an older lady that works for her that has a hybrid and an EV that her grown liberal daughters insisted her and her husband buy. Both are Fords and both were bought new and have been in the dealership for repairs more than half of the time they have owned them.
The lady told my wife they are trading them both as soon as they can find the gas powered vehicles they want and never going back.
Tesloop, a former shuttle service company in California, was one of the first to run a 2016 Model X 90D past 300,000 miles back in 2018. That electric SUV mostly relied on DC fast charging, which can degrade batteries quicker, and yet the company reported just 12.6 percent battery degradation with most of that occurring in the first nine months of service.
I thought the ‘65 Dart maxed out at 273 V-8.
There are brake upgrade kits for those things. The drum mechanism on those aren’t great. What do you use for a carb on the 318. Do you use lead substitute, and do you have to use high-octane? I always had to in my 318s (’79 Diplomat/’89 Fifth Ave.).
Does the EV lobby pay u by the post?
