In the past couple of years I have noticed there is a complete lake of regard for other posters on this site. Not only that but swearing seems to be tolerated. In the past day I have been called gay, a lair, that I am talking out of my *** and I am full of ****. Do we even have to go into the fighting on any thread about Ukraine or Russia. Even hard facts from multiple sources no longer seem to matter. Instead it is whoever can come up with the snarkiest reply.

I met Humblegunner at the Texas FReeper Shoot in 2019. I learned a lot about the proper care and handling of firearms from him. He’s also a great cook.

If you live in the Deep South, you find the great folks who happen to be black. My boss in Columbus, GA was one, two of my peer co-workers were others. In the IT division of the regional bank where the faces in the team meetings would eastern Indians were black. No DEI, a lot of ex-military. Got the job done. Theydid make fun of my shoes, though.

I’m sorry for your struggles. I have a relative with NF2 and met several of her friends who went to RIT who also have it.

Some of the cases are pretty severe and they also endured the hearing loss that usually comes with it.

I wish there was something to say to ease your pain and difficulties.

I fully understand the mindset where somebody would be defensive about it, even if they don’t subscribe to that mindset.

I think that is a difficult thing for a lot of people of any color.

But I think I know the difference between people who are black, and people who subscribe to the toxic black culture.

And I believe that many of those who might be defensive about it, understand it as well.

Which I see is a good thing.

Yes, a handful of people have really destroyed FR. Rather than engage in meaningful discussion these few people prefer to insult, name call, and attempt to bully people.

I recall one FReeper I saw who not only admitted to pot stirring, but was bragging about how many responses he could get by egging people on with his snarky posts.

I no longer post to him after reading that.

There are a few others I refuse to post to since they only pot stir and don't debate in good faith.

I read the articles and sometimes comment, I have been called everything in the book and in multiple languages. I just don’t normally respond to insults.

There are threads I don’t bother with because so many people seem to have minds like concrete, all mixed up and firmly set.

However, that’s the nature of free speech.

What really riled me up was how a certain someone late last year acted as a flunkie to portray him a truly changed person who, get this, decided to go to Divinity School. A few actually fell for this until I injected the inconvenient reality of what went on.
