I'm on your side in this issue. I miss what he sometimes accomplished, but not how he did it. Very crude and not funny.
What really riled me up was how a certain someone late last year acted as a flunkie to portray him a truly changed person who, get this, decided to go to Divinity School. A few actually fell for this until I injected the inconvenient reality of what went on.
I am of much the same persuasion as you towards Humblegunner. I agreed with his point of view on blog pimpers, though I wouldn’t have approached it the same way.
From reading of people who know him personally, I fully accept Humblegunner is likely not who he appeared to be in this forum on occasion.
I think he got angry about it, and became unlikeable to many in the process, even those who might have agreed with him.
I got the distinct impression he needed a break from FR, and I hope he is doing well, I really do. Because from what I have heard, in person, he sounds like my kind of people. But on here...he occasionally wasn’t that.
