If you live in the Deep South, you find the great folks who happen to be black. My boss in Columbus, GA was one, two of my peer co-workers were others. In the IT division of the regional bank where the faces in the team meetings would eastern Indians were black. No DEI, a lot of ex-military. Got the job done. Theydid make fun of my shoes, though.
I fully understand the mindset where somebody would be defensive about it, even if they don’t subscribe to that mindset.
I think that is a difficult thing for a lot of people of any color.
But I think I know the difference between people who are black, and people who subscribe to the toxic black culture.
And I believe that many of those who might be defensive about it, understand it as well.
Which I see is a good thing.
