Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has compared himself to a saint as he doubles down on a 'misogynistic' speech he made saying women are happier as 'homemakers'.
The 28-year-old delivered a 20-minute speech last Saturday at the Catholic private liberal arts college in Kansas.
In it, he said men should 'fight against the cultural emasculation' and encouraged women to be 'homemakers' instead of working.
On Friday night, he doubled down on his remarks, comparing himself to Saint Daniel during another speech at a Regina Caeli Academy event in Nashville, Tennessee.
He told the event: 'Over the past few days my beliefs, or what people think I believe, have been the focus of countless discussions around the globe.'
He continued: 'At the outset, many people expressed a shocking level of hate. But as the days went on even those who disagreed with my view points shared their support for my freedom of religion.
'As to be expected, the more I've talked about what I value most, which is my Catholic faith, the more polarizing I have become.'
The kicker went on to say his decision was one that he did 'not regret at all', and said it wasn't people but Jesus Christ he was trying to please.
He continued: 'I can't help but tremble at the thought of the courage many saints have shown in their lives. Would I be so bold if the repercussion was what Daniel faced in being fed to lions.
'In reality any courage I have shown will lead to some small suffering, and it will lead to some people never liking me.
'If I constantly remind myself of the hardships the saints went through, especially the martyrs and their persecution, it makes it all seem not so bad.

All true believers are saints. It refers to position, because of Christ, not behavior.
That's not likening himself to saints, that's a humble declaration of falling short of them.
What you said is above the paygrade of the Daily Mail.
The left doesn’t have the brainpower to see what you just pointed out.
They make me sick.
He said what he’s been through is nothing what the incredible suffering of the saints endured.
Amen 🙏🏻!
I know how you feel.
The ACTUAL misogynists are those who promote a society in which women are economically compelled to work for money, outside the home. The value of a true home-maker cannot be overstated, and we as a civilization have suffered by diminishing its importance.
That's not fair! You didn't fall for the twisting logic of the media to trick you. You read for comprehension and saw through the BS. Not fair.
You have to listen to the entire speech to understand his point(s).
Deceptive headline.
Exactly.
NFL Baby Mommas: “He’s not wrong”
Every time I hear about mass layoffs in the Enemedia, I shed a tear of gratitude, and like to remind those laid off that suicide is an option.
So very true. The mother is the heart of the home.
So now anything Biblical is “misogynistic” and “Christian nationalism “. As a Christian we made the mistake decades ago of trying to “get along and be quiet”. No more!!! It’s time to stand firm in Christ—-we answer to Jesus not the whims of man.

they tell you A story”

The Daily Mail was regarded as a rightish outlet for a while.
Based on the recent decline in reporting quality (they botched completely the cause of a stock price crash in Cracker Barrel) I’d say they’ve gone Drudge.
Or they are simply European and despise religion.
Either way, they suck, Jim.
The leftist poofters at The Mail cannot comprehend the meaning of having faith.
The “feminist” agenda was to vastly increase the income tax base, put kids into government-run institutions at a younger age, and chip away at the nuclear family structure, right from the get-go. The left always introduces their nefarious agenda by cloaking it in a sob story, always evolving around victimhood. Everything they do is to decimate the nuclear family, as this is the very foundation of a healthy, civilized, and prosperous society....something statists do not want.
