Vice Media will lay off hundreds of employees and stop publishing on its website, the company’s leadership announced this week. CEO Bruce Dixon said, “It is no longer cost effective to distribute our digital content the way we have done previously,” in a memo sent to employees and shared with several media outlets Thursday.
Vice is the latest in a slew of digital media companies that have been forced to lay off staff as a cost-cutting measure in an increasingly tough digital advertising market, increased fragmentation across the media landscape and fast-changing news consumption habits.

I’ll bet you are right about that.
You can sure tell AI garbage, too. Just this morning, I was researching engine blocks, closed deck vs open deck. I found one excellent, factual, concise, insightful, well-organized, and non-repetitive article obviously written by an expert human.
Then I found another one that felt like it was written by a second grader, repetitive, full of superlatives, little technical content and annoying phrases; it was all just gloss and lots of useless filler. It would really be a challenge for a human to write that badly.
AI written articles are NOT ready for prime time. Maybe in 20 years. But they are pushing the crap on us way before its ready, just like EVs, windmill, and solar.

There are young ladies making podcasts on How To Find The Best Yoga Pants and other stunning content and they have millions of followers why can’t the truth telling people at Vice generate even larger audiences by dropping truth bombs? Asking for a friend. Personally I don’t give a crap. 😎
