Pick your grift... which of these holidays is the most wholly fabricated (hurry and vote before George Floyd's birthday is added to the ballot)?
They both fit with the USA’s national made-up religion of “diversity” and “multiculturalism” which has been used as a sledge hammer to destroy Western Christendom. No dissent from the national religion is allowed or you will be “de-monetized” aka fired from your job, arrested, charged with hate / thought crimes, and publicly humiliated. Do not question the national religion. Allow Western Christendom to be taken apart brick by brick with no pushback... that is what the new religion requires.
Yes.
Kwanza is fake
Juneteenth is just a national embarrassment
That was until somebody noticed Trump scheduled a rally on it.
the problem is that while Juneteenth is based on a real event, we already have politicians and others misrepresenting the holiday as the day slaves were freed nationwide, which is not true.
It’s meant to replace Independence Day.
If blacks really wanted to celebrate freedom
They’d have their asses out on green expanses with bands playing Battle Hymn of the Republic saluting the 100,000s of thousands of Yankee boys my kin killed mostly down here over this and preserving the union
Showing appreciation for who actually paid that priced
Instead it’s just more victimhood crap, an
excuse for group misbehavior patterns and a free day off for lazy people
Sub Saharan tribal black culture never really knew freedom anywhere till England greed their slaves
People are so stupid today
I think freeing the slaves was one of the five most important events in US history — I’m very comfortable celebrating that. So I respectfully disagree with your take on Juneteenth.
Your ignorance of Juneteenth is appalling. Freeing the slaves did not happen on June 19.
BOTH ARE RIDICULOUS
I think we all agree that freeing slaves was an important positive event, but if Lincoln, the guy who ended slavery, can share Washington’s Birthday as a national holiday, I think Juneteenth can share MLK’s birthday.
Juneteenth is to celebrate the Union army general who made the proclamation and the Union soldiers who made that possible.
Bingo! Good Point 👍
I think Texas was the last CSA state to officialy accept Union governance so today would be that last day for chattel slavery in the states of the CSA. Slavery continued in Ky., Md., Mo., and Del. until passage of 13th amendment. But slaves did little to free themselves. The men and boys who war The Blue and the families who longingly looked at the Vacant Chairs should be who are recognized today
Idiocy. Junteenth is a real, American holiday, one that Republicans should lead celebrating as it finished what Republican President Lincoln started—freeing the slaves.
They are, but they don't have to be.
Marxism/socialism says that co-operation is a good thing, so we'll give the government the authority to require everyone's co-operation and collective responsibility.
Christianity, along with Aristotle's societal organization, says that co-operation (loving your neighbor in Christianity) is a good thing, so we should promote individual virtuous behavior leading to it.
It's basically the difference between having the government collect your work-gained wealth in order to spend it on building barns for the collective farm, and teaching people it is a good thing to help your neighbor build his barn on his property, and for your neighbor to help you build yours.
Oops, must’ve been a printing error somewhere.
If the had an ounce of logic they would celebrate Lincoln’s birthday for it.
No, only people that object to freeing the slaves would say that. It is culmination of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, marks when that action finally reached Texas. We should celebrate this just as equally as we do Independence day. And this should be a Republican-led holiday.
