A planet sized hole has ripped through the surface of the sun letting out intense 1.8 million mph winds which could threaten our entire planet by the end of the week.
The gaping hole, which stretches 20 times the size of the Earth, is the second to appear in a week and has sent solar winds hurling towards our planet within the next 24 hours.
If the winds make impact with our planet, the Earth’s magnetic field, satellites, and most technologies would cease to work leading to a potential worldwide power cut.
The first hole appeared March 23, and triggered stunning auroras lighting up the night sky.
NASA released a statement after the recent discovery describing the holes as “magnetically open areas that are one source of high-speed solar wind.”
They continued to explain how when Coronal Mass Ejections strike the Earth they could cause geomagnetic storms, enhanced auroras and disrupt radio waves, as well as GPS and any number of electrical systems we have in place.
The massive influx of energy could overwhelm our power grids and cause permanent damage to transformers around the world.
The last explosion coming from the sun’s surface was listed as an “X-Class flare” meaning that it narrowly missed the Earth and almost causing an unknowable amount of damage to our atmosphere.

Well,it will blow all the leaves left in my yard by my neighbors trees back in their yard.
The "wind" to which they are referring is not air, but rather a rarified mixture of (ionized) Hydrogen and Helium - comparable to a hard vacuum that can be created in an Earth-based laboratory with the right equipment.
Regards,
It’s solar wind....guess you never heard of it.
So you're saying that you are a scientifically uninformed rube who has fallen for this sensationalist reporting?
It's your kind that was buying boxes of "comet pills" when the Earth passed through the tail of Halley's Comet in the 19th century!
Regards,

Yawn!

“One reason I went with Sol-Ark inverters was they’re supposedly tested against various levels of EMP.”
Of course the ideal solution would be to have some level of capability to either generate AC without electronics, and/or have some level of backup DC capability.
In fact, I’m old enough to remember when light bulbs worked on DC power.
I hate it when that happens.
I agree.
Most people don’t even understand the reversal of the sun’s polarity every 11 years and the solar cycle.
I’ve been following this since about 1992, even before they put up the SOHO satellite to monitor it.
You have the honor of posting the most intelligent and humorous comment and I want to say that I admire you for that.
Regards and Thank you.
OMG! Gotta go get milk, bread and eggs.
True that. There are a fair amount of small appliances made to run on DC power for RV’s. I’ve read of a few hard-core off-grid types with almost an entire small house of DC appliances. But that was before inverters had today’s relatively low loss of power during conversion (from DC to AC). Now that inverters do their job much more efficiently the conversion loss makes DC powered appliances less of a need -— until an EMP.
This is why we have a generator, survival food, blue barrels filled with water and a rural retreat. 😏
Yep, and didn’t even think about campers. Best to get the hardware before it dries up, as campers will likely go much more AC, due to the availability of Chinese Inverters.
1.8 Million MPH
The sun is roughly 93 million miles from earth, depending upon the season.
93 million divided by 1.8 million is roughly 52 hours for it to reach the earth.
The speed of light is 6.702 x 10 to the 8th power miles/hr.
That’s 670,200,000 MPH
A metal building with a metal roof and doors and no windows may work, but the windows and doors and shingled roofs won't do you any good. Even if the model you're referring to has metal siding.
Ah yes.. the beached whale pic.
So that’s going to be China’s cover story when they attack us. Clever.
BUT the real threat is from “carbon”
