A recent survey has found that 34% of its white respondents admitted to lying about being part of a racial minority to boost their chances of getting accepted into college.
Taking advantage: The survey, which questioned 1,250 white college applicants aged 16 and up, discovered that 34% of them lied in their applications, according to Intelligent.
Forty-eight percent of them falsely claimed to be of Native American descent, and about 9% of them lied about being Asian American or Pacific Islander. Around 81% of the students who lied said they did it to increase their chances of getting admitted to their preferred schools, while 50% hoped to benefit from minority-focused financial aid.
About 75% of the students who made false claims got accepted into the schools they lied to.
The survey also found that male applicants lied more about their race in their college applications (48%) than female college applicants (16%) did. However, more female respondents admitted to lying about being Black than their counterparts did at 18% and 8%, respectively.
Kristen Scatton, the managing editor at Intelligent.com, said applicants who lied to increase their chances of college admission were taking advantage of the belief that “many Americans of European descent have some Native American DNA in their bloodline.”
“However, research has shown that’s not all that common, particularly among white Americans. But applicants are banking on the fact that no college is going to ask them to provide a DNA sample to verify,” Scatton added.
Other details: Jerome A. Lucido, executive director of the Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice at the University of Southern California, told Inside Higher Ed that “these students may have been admitted regardless of their deception.”

If she had been taken to court and had her credentials stripped and salaries clawed back the youngsters would have to reconsider the costs vs the benefits of faking it.
Since there were no consequences for her lying the message is clear.
You can lie and get away with it—easily.

The HVAC tech that installed my air-conditioner was looking for a new career in software engineering. He lives on the reservation immediately north of my city. He started in the right direction, but made some bad choices with respect to drug use. The last time we spoke, he was jailed awaiting trial. The outcome was possibly prison. The trial date has come and gone. I suspect he is incarcerated now.

But I thought we were the most racially oppressive country in the world. The one country where a minority student could catch a break or get a fair shake. Someone needs to get this story to Joy Reid ASAP.
I wonder how the media will handle this story. If they report it straight up they are going to have to at least touch on the why’s of why white students feel it necessary to say they are POC on college forms. That doesn’t fit the meme.
It’s not a “Lie” if you simply choose to identify as such.
Choosing to check a box for some extra money makes perfect sense to me.
Make em play by their own rules.

Black History Month should remind people Democrats professed an apparent contradiction as they seceded to begin the Civil War.
They had demanded protection where slavery existed, and the right to take their “peculiar property” into the territories. They had demanded trading their property across state lines and that states enforce the Fugitive Slave Law. Yet during prior and final Congressional debates and in the Confederate constitution, Southerners joined near universal condemnations of international slave trading.
This contradiction vanished when understanding the South was being overrun with its property. Democrat Senator Alfred Iverson of Georgia said before Congress in 1861, “We know well that we never can enjoy equal possession of the territories without protection of our property….. They increase, according to the last census bill, at the rate of 32% every ten years.” The South needed new slave states and plantations to absorb the increasing population.
Over one hundred fifty years later black communities provide voting plurality to the Democrat party and adopt their Pro-Choice sacrament of abortion. According to the Centers for Disease Control, black women in 2019 accounted for 38% of abortions, though blacks constituted 14% of total population. Applying antebellum population growth to the period after the Roe v. Wade decision (1/22/73) would mean 91 million blacks instead of the 47 million currently living.
So, what benefits override the contradiction of providing the Democratic party 90% voting support, compared to the antebellum mandate for contributing 60% of black humanity to enrich the Democrat slave master’s political status?
