Tell her I was from Grand Forks. Ralph Englestad was from Thief River Falls. He built Englestad Arena at UND in Grand Forks, but he also built one in Thief River Falls.

“78 degree swing”
I once got on a plane in Albany NY where it was -18F and flew to Austin TX where it was 90F. I got a lot of funny looks walking through the terminal in a winter coat and hat when almost everyone was in shorts and T-shirts.

Drove from Maine to North Carolina today. Thought we’d get a break from the cold, but we brought it with us. It’s 19 here.

It was -36 in the Alberta foothills last night.
That’s beyond uncomfortable … it’s deadly.

Don’t know where you are in SW Pa but where I am you couldn’t find a place to park at Giant Eagle. Wife said Target was a total zoo. I stopped for a beer on my way home and my neighborhood saloon was full. We made plans to meet for buckwheat cakes and sausage tomorrow morning. It hasn’t bothered us. We just complain about how cold it is.

Northeast PA here. Thermometer reads 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Very windy.
The earlier rain & snow mostly gone from paved surfaces, but patches of ice to watch out for.
Hunkering down tonight, binge-watching Christmas shows.

My Filipina fiancee' (now wife) landed in Pittsburgh airport in March of 2010, after we had two feet of snow drop in a 48 hour period a week before, wearing a very thin traveling suit, never realizing what cold and snow was .....
until she did.

What we need is less of this climate change cold and more of the old-fashioned cold that we aren’t getting because of climate change. At least that’s what I thought Al Gore was mumbling to himself as he tried to warm up.

You DO realize the more you rag on me the more I hate you ... /8^) ......
Believe me, the older I get, the less I'm able to appreciate winter.
It IS a beautiful AND HEALTHY time of the yer, but once I get a chill, it doesn't go away and I'm scared to death to have a drink, 'cuz I might not stop (sober since 81)
I could SO die in the Province.
