Yup
The amish (real amish) are ahead of their time.
I want a buckboard, drawn by a team of 6...no, 8 greenies.
Hm. That means it’ll be next to impossible to buy even an old, beat-up, gas-powered car in the future. People will be selling their 2005 Ford Focuses to pay off their mortgages.
“For sale: 1993 Cadillac. Still Runs. Problems with catalytic converter. Seats all torn up. Must sacrifice at $75,000.”
Chrysler Fiat killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
Bye bye hemi V8.
Go woke go broke will not happen.
To big to fail.
Government will prop them up.
We will need vehicles powered by unicorn farts.
As goes Kia, so goes the world.
The Global World is encroaching on our lives and it’s seems near impossible to stop it. We would become shut-ins if we were forced to give up our ICE vehicle because there is no way we could afford an EV. Or even install a recharging station at our home. We live 12 miles to our nearest small town so there is no way for us to walk or bike there. The only solution would be for us to sell our property and move into town close to our doctor and a grocery store. I think that is what the Global leaders want.
I’ve got a 4-door, rear wheel drive, gas powered TRUCK. I bought one of the last Tundras made with a big V8. Figure it will last me until I die and then my kids will inherit it.
Pretty sure BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac are all still making RWD sedans. Do they just mean non-“luxury” brands?
The market wants gas powered and affordable cars.
Removing that choice is how the left intends to force you into either buying an exceedingly expensive electric car or no car at all... just rentals
Might be time to put out affordable, gas powered alternatives
When we have to give up our cars and take busses filled with liberal bums crapping on the seats, we had better make sure that EVERY home of the elite has no power, no water, absolutely no cars going in or out, and the residents afraid to look out of their windows. Not even close to kidding. Enough is enough. Make the b*stards and b*tches fear (quite properly) for their lives.
Mankind is going to be extinct much faster.
The world has been gripped by an insane climate change mania. More atmospheric CO2 is beneficial, but very few people any longer care about facts.
I got a 2020 Ford Explorer specifically because Ford built it on the same frame as the reintroduced Ranger - it’s RWD with the option to engage the front wheels on demand. I really like this SUV.
Anybody who wants to keep theirs running, I highly recommend WoolWax undercoating. It’s basically lanolin, smells good, and really prevents rust. I wish they had it when I lived back in Cleveland.
The best cars, gone.
It is interesting that Ford went back to rear-wheel drive on the 2020 Explorer. It would appear that FWD is not suitable for anything larger than a mid-size sedan. Also there are very few super-cars on the planet that are FWD.
The demise of the ICE-powered sedan can be traced to the combination of three factors:
- EPA fuel efficiency standards
- vehicle safety standards
- UAW labor costs
Here's how it worked ...
1. The EPA fuel efficiency standards required auto manufacturers to sell a large number of compact cars in order to offset the lower fuel efficiency of large cars and SUVs.
2. However, the mandatory safety features made vehicles heavier, and it was more difficult to build small cars economically.
3. The combination of these factors, plus the UAW labor costs, made compact cars so expensive that the price differential between a compact and midsized sedan became very small.
4. Customers who saw a $25,000-$30,000 price tag on a compact car decided they'd rather pay $30,000-$35,000 on a midsized car from the same manufacturer.
5. The auto manufacturers were basically forced to outsource their compact car production to Third World countries and/or sell these cars at a loss in order to keep the prices low enough to make them attractive to U.S. buyers.
6. They finally gave up.
I’m kind of shocked to find out there was still somebody making rear-wheel-drive. I didn’t think they’d made it into the 21st century. Nobody even says a car is front wheel anymore, we just assume if it ain’t 4 it’s front.
