A 16-year-old girl was in serious condition after being mauled by six of her family’s large dogs at their home in Southern California over the weekend, authorities said.
A neighbor called 911 to report the attack around 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Thousand Oaks, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
Sheriff’s Capt. Ron Chips said the teen suffered “several significant lacerations and dog bites to her head, torso, and arms.” The girl’s mother was also bit, but not seriously injured, he said.
The dogs were identified as cane corsos, a type of mastiff, the Ventura County Star reported Monday.
When firefighters arrived at the home, they attempted to stop the attack by blasting their truck sirens and waving their tools, officials said.

They look pretty much exactly like Pits to me. I looked them up. And I saw one then I would think they were Pits.
Should of had gotten themselves a peaceful pack of Pit Bulls
To be fair, I knew a family that had a mastiff - looked pretty much the same as the one in the pic above - it was sweet as could be.
But yeah, could knock over any grown man. The wife took it to the beach one day and it ran, dragging her along the sand and she lost her bikini in the process. Pretty embarrassing, but others stepped in to stop the dog and cover her up.
How many peaceful pitties populate a peaceful pack of pit bulls?

I ain’t waving my tool at anyone and certainly not at an angry dog. Last dog bite I went to where it was thought to still be occurring, I carried a CO2 extinguisher!
Six extremely aggressive dogs of a breed that was developed to be war dos and then plantation police dogs. Six is a pack and when the alpha switches to attack mode all go in. These people must be insane.

I’ve known both mellow English Mastiffs (they drool) and even sweet, well-trained pits.
Carne Corsos are intimidating. I cannot imagine a mauling by 6 of them.
The firefighters didn’t think of turning the hoses on them?
Not the dogs fault, it’s ‘how they were raised’, gnomesayin?

The dogs of peace again
I have a cane corso puppy, 4 months old & 50lbs, on his way to 150 lbs. He is a handful. He gets put into the kennel when my grandson is visiting. He will mellow out as he gets older, but will remain very protective. Adults are fine around him as long as they are not afraid and stand their ground. He’s going through a major limits testing phase right now. He’ll push anyone’s limits to see where they stand. Dogs like cane corsos need tons of attention and training. I wouldn’t let mine alone with a child, or a strange adult for that matter.
One dog can turn on you. Imagine a pack of six dogs turning on you.
Only 6? What about the rest of them? How many did they have?
