On Monday, McDonald's announced that the McRib would be returning for a national 'Farewell Tour' on Oct. 31, but what does that mean?

I never had one but I’d like to try one. I’ll have to be on the look out for them.
“The best thing McDonalds ever made (in my opinion) was their “steak” sandwich, which was a chopped steak patty on a medium-soft roll with raw onions and steak sauce. I guess it wasn’t too popular, because they discontinued it after a short while”
I feel your pain. Back when Jack in the Box had Monster Taco’s year round they introduced a few new twists, one was a Ranch Dressing version. Another one which I don’t think lasted more than a month was the breakfast Monster Taco which added a scrambled egg. I LOVED IT, so of course it had to go 😞
This is one of my few splurges. I know this is mystery meat. I ate mystery meat at school for 12 years. But this sandwich is fun! I hope they don’t discontinue it!
Yes. It is to be permanently replaced by the McCockroach, I have heard.
“oddly I like the mcrib”
Ditto. I’ll buy 3-4 and put 2 in the freezer for when they’re gone again. A guilty snack.
Last week I went to a McDonalds and saw they were advertising McRib. I ordered one........ alas, they were sold out.
A day or so later, at a different, larger Mcdonalds I was able to buy one.
It is my opinion that the brown sauce on the current McRib is much better than I remember. It is different and very, very good.
Since It will be gone for evermore, I intend to eat several in the next two months. I will savor the taste and the mess.
-—Probably a new sauce idea.——
I was privileged to eat a McRib last week.
Having been a McRib coinsurer for a long time, it is my opinion that the sauce on the current version is in fact different than always before. The sauce is still as messy as before but is different in taste and significantly better.
My only negative on the McRib is the sugar level (12 grams), where a guy has to limit himself to 36 grams a day. So that shotglass of sauce is a fair amount. Personally, I could do OK with just half the amount of sauce.
I should also note....there’s a heck of a lot of sodium in the McRib, and once you down it....you better stick to fruit for the rest of the day.
Indeed it is. I wrestled in junior high school and high school. When I was 13 years old in the early 80s, I like many competitive wrestlers, pretty much starved myself to maintain a lower weight class. From October through December I ate minimally struggling to stay in the 105 lb. bracket.
After our last match in December, before Christmas break when I would have a couple weeks off, my dad took me to McDonald's. This was 1982 and the McRib was new on the market in western PA. At that point, I was hungry enough to eat a skunk's ass, so of course that McRib was about the best thing I ever ate...but above and beyond that, as I sat there with my dad the week before Christmas, it was the first time my father and I had a conversation, not so much as father to son, but man to man. Every year, when the McRib rolls out, I get to relive that moment, which is particularly poignant now, as my dad passed away in 2021.
Yes, yes .........but: It’s McRib : )
What is it actually made of?
Hah ha good one
“I have a theory about McDonald’s, that is, everything they make is all one thing, and in the back they have this big vat full of this stuff, these little molds combining, like SPLURT ‘Hamburger!’ SPLURT ‘Malt!’ SPLURT ‘Paper box!’ SPLURT ‘Here’s your change!’” - Steve Martin
🤣
“McRib is a ground up, reconstituted pork patty with black grill marks painted on to it. Add some BBQ sauce and a bun. It does not exist in nature, same as the reconstituted Chicken McNugget”
So?
You mean it is that pink stuff they shoot out of a tube into a mold and top with McBBQ sauce?
It’s because the price of pork is seasonally cyclical. Its price collapse during the Holiday months.
“McRib is a ground up, reconstituted pork patty with black grill marks painted on to it.”
Eat that trash every day and get fully vaxxxxed. You will get cancer.
