Serious question

A media I assume you normally don’t believe in the west

You know trust since it’s opposed to Russia ?

Why trust their veracity now?

Let me try to encapsulate my view

Ukraine a thoroughly corrupt oligarchic system with autocratic leadership similar to Russia except leader is weaker is not worth our involvement

Second this eastern oblasts war has gone on for a long time and several referendums show the Russian ethnic sizable majority wants out

Ukrop has used heavy handed means to thwart that since 2014 and yes at times with neo Nazi nationalists militias that has killed 1000s of civilians

That is where the real fighting has been

I see no reason to support any of Ukraine or western objectives on that nor do I think Ukraine is worth the toil

Our foreign policy and media seems to have a one size fits all on Russia for many reasons they deem appropriate

My feeling is it’s often misguided as in Syria where our media lied yet again about a chemical attack we retaliated against

I think Assad warts and all brought better stability to Syria

We seem to have a foreign policy determined to exploit existential threats or run to war with no end in sight and I don’t have much faith in them

It’s no coincidence many NGO groups behind these pro uke propaganda sites are funded by defense industry

This war was so avoidable

Let the Donbas seek their own way and leave Ukraine out of NATO

Far better than this costly war

I don’t think we’ve ever funded anything like this since lend lease and for such a minor objective of such a corrupted non free entity

Trump would have forced a deal I think which is why Putin waited

Figured he’d get more from proxy war with Biden admin rather than a deal with Trump

I think the globalists hate Putin mostly cause to them he’s even worse than Trump culture wise

A regular Neanderthal

But he is getting older so we shall see

I think our media is quite horrible.

It does not mean I think Russian media is better.

There are conservative and alternative media outlets in the US and elsewhere.

I think we continue to live in an age where cell phones make the kind of old school 20th century propaganda difficult.

Putin cannot carry off the 1930s style Holmodor genocide. He wants to though. Cell phones are a root tool that makes complete information shutdowns impossible. Russia is a much more closed communication system than Ukraine and that is why I trust them so much less. Putin murders journalists with impunity. I don’t think the same can be said for Zelensky even though I am sure Russian propagandists work with relatively greater energy in places such as the Donbass.

Putin is the person you are afraid the US is becoming. He must conquer nations regularly or else the public challenges his absurdly dictatorial powers. I don’t disrespect anyone’s desire to not have eternal war but I am confident that deterrence is how war is prevented. Putin is in Ukraine because we were weak in Afghanistan and Biden is intrinsically weak. I think a unipolar US led world is better and ultimately more peaceful.

Of course, USA is not going to war with Russia. But we should arm Ukraine. We can refer to Budapest Memorandum for that. To me, that is all the justification we need to give Ukraine the weapons they needed to resist the Russian invasion. Otherwise, we risk nuclear proliferation because Ukraine got screwed after they gave up their nuclear weapons.

“...several referendums show the Russian ethnic sizable majority wants out...”

I’ve told you twice already, Russian speakers in the Donbas ain’t ethnic Russians in large part. Check the last names in the Donbas. There often Yeremenkos and other typical Ukrainian names. The Ukrainian language survives in Donbas in the smaller agricultural villages. How in Hades can you put any faith in a referendum when Russian agents and troops were there? How is it thousands of Russian speaking Donbas Ukrainians are busy fighting for Ukraine. It is because they remember the 1920s, the 1930s, and 2014. Russia wants to replace Ukrainians and you want to reward them for their genocide. You’ve been in Moscow’s camp on this thing since day one. What is your ulterior motive Mister Mississippi now in Tennessee?

Although I wish we didn’t have to be involved, we have no choice at this point.

We stayed out of it for the most part when Russia annexed Crimea and look where it got us.

They aren’t going to stop with Ukraine either, but keep pushing, so sooner or later we have to confront them.

I would prefer a world where the US didn’t have to be the world’s police. But reality is the world still need a police and we are the only ones who can do the job. We do need to insist that the rest of the world gave more help and not let us burden the entire load though.

Ukraine was part of the Russian Empire.

Yes, that is the point!   That means we do not have any business at all being involved in that sphere of influence that has existed for a thousand years.

“Fags like you?”

Obviously you are incapable of serious argument.

I’d quit making posts if I were you.

Why would I listen to the media when I have family and friends in the Donbas who know what went on in 2014. What makes your sources better than that?

“...Your friends are in the minority...”

No, they are Ukrainians who have been abused by Russians.

Your friends are scalawags who support the apes and pigs. Russia invaded in 2014. Death to the invaders. Glory to Ukraine!

If we abdicate our role as the world's policeman, other nations including Russia and China will be happy to fill the power vacuum.

Freedom of the seas? It'll be gone.

Then when are you going over to Ukraine to fight ? You’re all big on talk to involve us in a war that is none of our damn business, but there’s not one single warmonger on FR who will put his money where his mouth is and go over to Ukraine to fight.

Not one dime, not one soldier, not one weapon for Soros’s corrupt puppet state.

He’s rightfully fed up with your crap and that of your crew. You’d be taken more seriously if you announced you were leaving to fight. Instead, you’re forcing us into something we don’t want. You want it ? You fight it. Otherwise keep us the hell out of something none of our business.

P.S. There’s terrorism going on in Somalia, too. Want to commit us to fighting that, too ?
