As far as I can tell, the stores in rural TN are still stocked fine. It’s taking a while to get my ordered dry dog food but it’s coming. I will have enough to last a year when it gets here. My little divas don’t eat off the shelf dog food and I make most of theirs. 🙄 The eat the limited ingredient dry (L.I.D.) and I make the wet in the food processor, dry it in the dehydrator, vacuum seal it, and freeze it. If the power goes off, it doesn’t spoil since it’s dehydrated but it keeps better in the freezer when not being used. Soak it a few minutes and it’s normal food.
I have a large dehydrator, so I dehydrate food first and then vacuum seal it. I keep stuff in the freezer since dehydrating doesn’t preserve as long as freeze drying but I can’t afford a big freeze drier. LOL
It’s a reference from the book of Daniel 3 to the Israelites in captivity who stood against the king’s order for everyone to bow down and worship the idol he had made or be thrown into a fiery furnace. Bow down or die. But when three Israelites refused and were thrown into the furnace a fourth man “like unto the A son of the gods” appeared with them and they came out unharmed.

▫️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.
💥High-precision air-based missiles have hit an AFU artillery training centre near Stetskovka, Sumy Region.
▫️The foreign trainers who had arrived in the centre held practical exercises for Ukrainian servicemen related to using and firing control of M777 155-mm howitzers.
▫️In addition, a missile attack has resulted in destroying a permanent base of foreign mercenaries near Dachnoye, Odessa Region.
▫️Moreover, 27 areas of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration, 2 command posts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 6 missile, artillery weapons, ammunition and fuel depots have been destroyed near Vesyoloye, Bakhmut (Donetsk People's Republic), Spornoye, Podlesnoye and Loskutovka (Lugansk People's Republic).
✈️💥Operational-tactical, army and unmanned aviation have hit 54 areas of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration.
▫️In total, the aviation attacks have resulted in the elimination of more than 400 nationalists, 20 tanks and armoured vehicles, 4 BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers, 9 artillery mounts and 29 miscellaneous vehicles.
💥Russian air defence means have shot down a military transport airplane of the Ukrainian Air Force that was transporting armament and ammunition near Odessa.
▫️In addition, 17 unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Popasnaya, Varvarovka, Stakhanov (Lugansk People's Republic), Dementyevka, Volkhov Yar, Mospanovo, Novaya Gnilitsa, Doslipnoye, Bolshiye Prokhody, Kapitolovka (Kharkov Region), Novoaleksandrovka (Nikolayev Region) over the past 24 hours.
▫️The abovementioned includes 2 Bayraktar-TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles hit by Russian air defence means near Kamenka, Nikolayev Region.
💥Missile troops and artillery have hit 33 command posts, 131 firing positions of AFU artillery units, as well as 542 manpower and military equipment concentration areas.
📊In total, 187 airplanes and 129 helicopters, 1,104 unmanned aerial vehicles, 328 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,406 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 466 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,769 field artillery and mortars, as well as 3,405 units of special military vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation.

When the Babylonians looked into thr furnace, they saw that not only were the three young men unscathed, there was a fourth figure seen in the furnace with them. They were delivered because of their faith and the Babylonians recognized the power of the living God.

Same in ‘not-rural’ Tennessee, at least in my part. But I’ve noticed some shifting of products on the shelves. That is to say, the cracker aisle has a smaller section for crackers (the crunchy kind, not people like me) than it had. I keep a pretty good supply of triscuit crackers at home, but only buy when on sale. Of course, today’s sale price is higher than the normal price a few years ago, and like many products, the package is shrinking.
I’ll have to read up on freezing things like milk and butter - two staples that I do use to a great extent.
As for power sources, I’m intrigued by solar w/batteries for the primary essentials (fridge, freezer, small amount of lighting), but the cost of entry is high. Frankly, buying a large solar system would take about 80 years to pay for itself, which is most likely longer than the system would last. But as a backup source, it might have some value.

Two Costco observations I made yesterday:
There was a train of about 60 boxcars with labels from all over parked on the hill above our Costco. Just parked in its tracks on the hill!
There were about 100 cars in gas lines at Costco yesterday afternoon. It was crazy. The people in that line must have been seething.
A company has been cutting down road-side trees all over the place in my neighborhood. I asked the cashier at the local Dollar General why all the tree-cutting and she stated, “the government wants us to stop breathing due to lack of oxygen.” Cracked me up.
I’ve been pondering Lot and his family. He left his wife behind when she made her choice to disobey God. She had been a decent woman, I think, but it was all moot when she made the deliberate choice to disobey. Like Eve.
Unlike Adam, Lot chose not to stay loyal to her and join her in sin. Perhaps he was helped to choose rightly by the thought of saving his children. He took the remaking obedient family members and moved on to the future. He did not waste time mourning or lamenting his wife. He moved forward. He held true to God’s requests.
Some good lessons here in these vaxx-torn family times.
