I’ve been pondering Lot and his family. He left his wife behind when she made her choice to disobey God. She had been a decent woman, I think, but it was all moot when she made the deliberate choice to disobey. Like Eve.
Unlike Adam, Lot chose not to stay loyal to her and join her in sin. Perhaps he was helped to choose rightly by the thought of saving his children. He took the remaking obedient family members and moved on to the future. He did not waste time mourning or lamenting his wife. He moved forward. He held true to God’s requests.
Some good lessons here in these vaxx-torn family times.
Uh...He also committed incest with both daughters and sired incestuous children with them. One daughter produced the Moabites and the other the Ammonites.
These two pagan nations presented problems for the people of God throughout their time in the land of promise.
Lot brought his family into the city of Sodom and no doubt infected his daughters with the sexual evil of that sinful place leading them to comit incest with their father.
I can't see Lot in such a rosy light. Although Peter says he was a righteous man. 2 Pet 2:7-10.
good observations. It’s always stumped me that Lot offered his daughters to the sodomites.
