Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Even seeing Ground Zero under construction was a somber and sobering experience. They will take pictures!
Wouldn’t it be nice if it worked every time? :o]
So do I! It’s tougher the older they get and make no mistake about that!
Safe journey!
Good morning. Happy Monday!
We had some rain yesterday and the temps are back to normal.

Yes, we got the tail-end of the tail-end... and there was some thunder involved...
Good Monday morning!
Also, good job on the Wordle!
And thanks for the kitteh!
We only got about 0.3” but are hoping for more tomorrow and Wednesday... and hopefully this means that the high pressure dome has collapsed for a while...
🤞🏻
No kitteh here either... just a four spot that was a bit of a struggle...

So, yesterday morning while Mrs. ArGee was still in bed I was watching a clip with Bill Maher discussing some issues with the whole “trans” thing. I don’t normally watch Bill Maher so I didn’t really know what to expect.
Other than some common sense (which his panel didn’t seem to like him saying) it was pretty unremarkable.
However, when he said, “If you just want to experience life without testicles, you can get married.” I about fell out of my chair.
Fortunately I didn’t wake Mrs. ArGee.
Greetings from the Transylvania County Public Library in Brevard. Excellent library. It’s pouring rain outside, which it has been doing steadily since about 8 p.m. yesterday. It also rained before that, but fortunately not before we got the tents up.
Supposed to rain all day today and maybe all night.
Bill Maher, on the few occasions I’ve watched him, has had me on the floor laughing at some of his comments. I can’t take him as a steady diet, though. Still, that’s priceless!
Four-spot here too. *And* a kitteh who was giving me head-butts until I cuddled him.

Good morning!
The laundry is done, and I’ve listened to a couple of uplifting talks and have taken care of a couple of other things (not necessarily listed in the “Owrk” column,) and still have a couple of emails to send.
Maybe I’ll fill out the recertification form tomorrow and include a letter reminding the manager of the things that still need to be done to make this place habitable.
The Other Folks texted me last night from JFK, and then again as they got settled in their seats. They flew out on an Airbus and were surprised at the room. I mentioned I had been on a couple when I went to Pakistan. How come they never knew about that, they asked? Ha-ha!
Nothing today so far, but they’ll probably post when they get to Rome and get to their hotel.
I’m still fiddling with my talk. I think I have to re-do the entire thing. :o|
The Meezer has you trained! LOL!
Good job on the Wordle. I did the Icelandic one today again. Just as tough. Unngh.
Aw man, that sucks! At least you have a nice library to cozy up in.
How long will you be there? Is there a chance you’ll get to enjoy some good weather and quality outdoor time?
Glad they finally got out!
Yes, I flew on Airbuses a couple of times in my Middle East days - not bad at all.
