If Inslee Signs Bill, No More New Gas Vehicle Sales After 2030 in WA (only 8.83 years left)

We are waiting to see what happens.

The automotive industry is already bracing for this one. One year after it passed (2021) but was vetoed by Gov. Inslee, the state Democrat-controlled legislature passed a bill (2022) that if signed by Inslee, will ban sales of new gas-powered vehicles in our state after 2030.

Autoweek took a look at the legislation a few days ago. The bill would ban the sale of new light-duty cars, SUVs, trucks, vans, etc. after 2030. It would allow continued sales of vehicles 10,000lbs. and up, and also allow emergency vehicles.

The reason last year's bill died, according to Autoweek:

"The previous effort, which stalled this time last year after passing 54-43 in the state House and 25-23 in the state Senate, was contingent upon 75% of the vehicles in the state entering into a road usage charge scheme that would replace the gasoline tax."

**SNIP**

However, according to Edmunds, the car experts, the average price (as of February) for an all-electric vehicle in the US was just over $60,000, which is a price that many, it not most Americans cannot afford. To read more on this legislation with this very good article from Autoweek, click here.

The saddest aspect of this story is that Inslee is a true “climate change” believer, proving he has the intellectual acuity of a dust-bunny. My sincere apologies to dust-bunnies everywhere for that disparaging comparison. Mea culpa.
Car batteries require one of the most toxic and polluting manufacturing processes ever deployed on planet earth.
And batteries require electricity for charging - mostly generated (here in Washington state) by hydroelectric means while the green-weenies work tirelessly to decommission and remove dams to save salmon while they also work to shut down fish farms.
Show me a green-weenie, and I’ll show you a hypocritical imbecile.

The used car market will explode as will the need for mechanics. Washington state will look like Cuba with all those vintage cars on the streets.

To take the logic to it’s conclusion... ban the sale of gasoline powered vehicles in the state, then not allow them to be registered, and then ban the sale of gasoline.

Not offering an opinion, just merely a thought experiment.

However, it doesn’t prohibit diesel as far as I can tell.

They ban constitutionally protected firearms.

The court up holds those bans why would you think vehicles would have more protections.

It’s pure insanity, I feel bad for the sane people in the state, if at all possible they should leave and allow the state to be completely destroyed.

I bet you won’t be able to register a gas car in WA after that date.

That will work for a year or two. Then you won’t be allowed to bring a gasoline car in from out of state and register it in WA. Then the gasoline stations will start closing. Then people won’t want to visit WA or risk driving through it.

It won’t be workable unless OR and CA join in which will happen in short order.

If you bough a new car out of state, The state could not license the vehicles in WA. One would have to maintain a residence in another state. Even then, law enforcement will pick up on you driving around with out of state plates past the 30 day grace period. Happened to me in WA. Got pulled over soon after day 30.

If the United States of America survives those within her that hate her and want to destroy her. It will be a miracle. Under the leadership of Lying Joe Biden, the choice of the People. The Democrats have almost succeeded. His new supreme Court nominee should finish nailing the lid shut on her coffin. Evil will abound. Confusion will reign. Evil will be considered good. Good will be bad. .... But that is what the people replaced President Trump with and for./p>

What they want is only the elite can drive and the underlings will live in government housing in the city and take the bus. You will also be eating government fake beef and insects. This is after 1/3 of the population is eliminated through pandemics and vaccines.

Impoverish us and leave us with no options but to buy an electric car. That may be impossible since we rely on countries who we have totaly alienated.

The truth is they know we can’t afford them and slaves aren’t supposed to have a car.

Pandemics and Vaccines are just one tool, I think a far more dangerous tool is CBDC aka Central Bank Digital Coins.

Here’s an article about the complete control over the population Governments would have if CBDCs are universally implemented.

For what? Cross the border and you're on the clock? Sounds like prison rules.

I was making routine trips up and down US 395 and a Hwy patrolman noticed me making the trip for a period of time with out of state plates so he stopped me and asked for the normal stuff. I didn’t lie, told him I was moving to WA. He told me to go register the vehicle in WA.

Left the state for good in 2020.

They MAY allow you to bring your gas car in if you’re moving into Washington State, but that will be it. If you currently live in Washington State or have lived there in the past 5 years (or something like that), you’re out of luck.

The border states just have to have to let you use a UPS Store (or similar) mailbox to register your car. I have done this on a couple of my older vehicles: a Connecticut car registered in Maine, and an Illinois car registered in Wisconsin. (Actually, both the same car).

Despite the saltwater from the ocean, really old cars hold up pretty well in WA. I would go that route.

“Car dealership on the border. You’ll make a mint.”

They won’t permit registration to residents. There will be court fights for years. Meaning, they win.
