“Always carry. And it doesn’t take much gun to shut down a pit bull. Always carry. Bless this beautiful woman.
Those breeds should be banned.”
Well said.
It shouldn’t be legal to on a pit bull .
But the woman may still die from her injuries. If she “recovers” she’ll be much more than just handicapped. She’ll be in need of daily professional attention.
on second thought... since there are countless defenders out there for this breed of beast, if I was the Emperor, this would be my law...
Sure, you can own this type of feral beast. But in the event it hurts anyone that is not attacking you, the beast, as well as yourself, will be put to death.
My stupid 20-something niece (need I say more??) who lives with my 80y mother, keeps insisting on rescuing an abused pit bull- mind you she has zero experience ever having a dog never mind a pit bull. The first one was over 2y old, had never lived inside and immediately went for her father until he took his ballcap off, then it nearly went for 80y grandma twice over next couple of months - who nearly passed out from fear and had to leave her own home- my mom returned home but niece didn’t get rid of said dog until I insisted (now they don’t speak to me-whatever), next dog idiot niece rescues? Another pitbull mix- there’s no fixing stupid (her or my mom who lets her bring them home). At very least abused animal should not be put up for adoption- just a disaster waiting to happen.
When are we as a society say these dogs are outlawed.
How horrible. That poor woman.
Unfortunately, we just got some new neighbors last year in our rural neighborhood just outside of town. They arrived with a male pit bull, then got a female pit bull, and now have added three pit puppies. The dogs run all over the place. It has completely changed the peace and safety of our area. People have built fences; they don’t go out for walks like they used to. The police have been called numerous times because the adult male frequently chases after walkers, runners and bikers on our road. The owners get a citation or small fine, pen up the dog for a while, and then he’s loose again. I carry a crowbar with me when I walk to the mailbox.
Always. You can depend on it.
Ban pitbulls!
Ghetto ponies
The face of dangerously stupid.
The farmer should’ve shot the dogs, but he did scare them off.
Sheesh...here in the South, as soon as those dogs were off the property and charged someone, you'd hear gunfire. Forget that, I'd be baiting them. Your neighborhood doesn't need that.
My grandfather was a cotton farmer in Alabama. He was plowing one day when he heard a distinctive rattle. He looked down and realize he had stepped into a coiled rattlesnake. He yelled for his son to run to the house and get a rifle. His son shot and killed the snake. After that he always carried a sidearm in the fields.
More than one and it’s a pack mentality
Most farmers I know carry a gun with them when they are out on their property. It is much like any other tool you carry in case it is needed. Pliers, duct tape, string, multi-tool, shotgun or pistol, knife, etc. That’s why so many farmers wear cover-alls with all those pockets.
He’s lucky he didn’t get bite when he stepped on it.
Other breeds do it, but pit bulls bite with much more pressure. They do a lot more damage. And the breeding and training to fight does not help. I would never own one.
Pitbulls are really nice dogs.
Until they are not.
Whenever a pitbull kills a child, or mauls a family member or guest, the family talks about how they never imagined the dog doing this, it was such a sweet dog. I witnessed “the switch flip” on a relative’s pitbull. It was indeed a sweet dog. None of us saw it coming, but thank God I was between my daughter and the dog when it happened. It was the first time the dog ever saw her, and it was never mistreated or abused, it was spoiled and loved. The next time I visited, I had them lock the dog up outside, but the dog still flipped when it saw my 5 year old.
There is something wrong with pitbulls. People who think their dog would never hurt anyone are deluded, and they will probably never see it coming.
They are not, and I speak from being attacked in my own yard by one who tried to come over my fence at me.
He didn't make it but his head was over and I almost lost three fingers. I realized the only way to save them was to rip them out of his mouth. While I went to the ER, animal control took him away for ten days but brought him back because the landlady, who was also attacked earlier, didn't report it.
The pit bull is still there and angry as ever when I get close to the fence. He and his female mate got into it a couple of weeks ago and fought for twenty minutes trying to kill each other. The neighbors, who weren't home at the time, have two little boys who are about the age to get out of the house when Mom isn't looking to go pet the dogs. I shudder to think what will happen if one playfully pulls the dogs ears.
Amazing that these dogs are still legal.
