Other breeds do it, but pit bulls bite with much more pressure. They do a lot more damage. And the breeding and training to fight does not help. I would never own one.

Sore research:

Pit bull mixes make 6% of the US dog population, or 4.5 million.

Not all PB's are problematic as regards unprovoked attacks, and defenders of the breed site Rottweilers a being the worst: Rottweilers, over the last fifteen years, are responsible for the second highest number of serious dog attacks in the country (See Dog Bite Study). The number of serious injuries caused by this breed is highly disproportionate to the number of Rottweilers in the United States.  Over a twelve-year period, Rottweilers were responsible for over 10% of fatal dog attacks even though they are less than 3% of the total dog population. Pit bulls have more notoriety for being aggressive because they are responsible for more serious and fatal injures of humans than any breed.  However, there are also twice as many Pit bulls as Rottweilers, so statistically speaking, there should be more attacks by Pit bulls than Rottweilers.

When calculating the number of reported bites per breed, Rottweilers are approximately ten times more likely to kill or mangle someone than the average dog. They also are more likely to kill other animals than the average dog. - https://www.oharaattorney.com/news/rottweilers-are-extremely-dangerous-breed/

Back in 1997, there were reports that over the past years, the Rottweiler was responsible for 29 deaths. According to the reports of the Centers for Disease Control, this is the second highest fatality count for any dog breed. With these grimacing facts, it would not be surprising why there are many people who would be alarmed by this.

Here’s the truth about Rottweilers and what every pet owner needs to know when they are interested in adding this dog to their brood.

One reason why the Rottweiler is known to be a violent dog is because of its history. This dog used to guard the cattle for the Roman soldiers and they accompanied the army. These dogs were prized since cattle happen to be the main source of nutrition for the army. This is also the dog breed which is used to bring the cattle to the market.

Later on, Rottweilers were the dogs that helped the butchers in pulling their cart. Police officers also brought Rottweilers to help them with their job. This dog is considered as a guardian and one of the best family friends.

By nature, the Rottweiler is territorial and this is one of the reasons why it can be a good guard dog. These dogs can be extremely protective of the things that they hold dear. When these dogs are not trained properly, they can give in to their domineering nature. In fact, this is the main reason why there are some Rottweilers are involved in attacks. - https://cuddleyourdogs.com/why-rottweilers-are-dangerous/
