Former San Luis Obispo mayor and climate change activist Heidi Harmon attempted to “do the right thing,” and travel to a rally in San Francisco in an electric car. After multiple attempts to find a working charging station in San Jose, Harmon realized charging the car would take up to seven hours and there was no way she could make the rally. Harmon posted multiple videos about her difficulties in traveling in an all-electric vehicle. She discusses calling the police or asking someone to send a helicopter to rescue her.
Harmon spearheaded an effort last summer to enact a city energy policy requiring all-electric new buildings. At that time, Mayor Harmon sat on the Central Coast Energy Board of Directors, the electric energy company she was promoting. Harmon stepped down from her mayoral seat in August to battle climate change, Harmon said. Harmon is now working as a senior public affairs director for the Romero Institute’s Let’s Green CA initiative, a nonprofit affiliated with Central Coast Community Energy.
Harmon posted multiple videos during her attempt to charge the electric car she was driving on the Lets Green CA Instagram page, which she later shared to her own Instagram page. Since then, some of the videos have been deleted, and Harmon disabled her personal Instagram page.

Virtue Grandstanding is a 24/7 job.
Think of this fiasco times 1 million.
These people want EVERYONE driving these electric cars.
Think of 1 million people as dumb as this woman having panic attacks and calling 911 over dead batteries in their electric cars while being stranded throughout America !
They honestly think they have a GOD-GIVEN RIGHT to convenient electric vehicle charging stations being built EVERYWHERE they wish to travel.
This is America’s future?
So many levels:
1) How can she not find a charging station in San Jose?
2) A full charge can take 10 hours on a home DC line, but a top-up at a charging station can get her to about 80% capacity in about an hour.
3) That she is so fundamentally inexperienced with electrical cars exposes her whole public persona as 100% fake.
4) What an entitled princess! “Help, save me! I’m going to be late for a conference! Send a FRICKING HELICOPTER????”
5) What exactly does she expect a helicopter could do for her that an Uber couldn’t?
6) How about a AAA tow to a charger, if she actually did run out?... you know... instead of a helicopter?
Anyone that believes that “man” can control earth’s climate should not be allowed to hold public office.
I can agree that large urban areas (tall buildings with lots of glass, and asphalt road and concrete everywhere) can effect the local climate, but that effect is limited.
There is a small (around 1,500 feet) mountain range between where I live and the coast. The climate on one side is different then the climate on the other (usually the coastal side is 10 to 20 degrees cooler). That small mountain range makes more difference in the climate then anything “man” could do.
Being a “climate change activist” and former mayor means she’s knows plenty of others as defective as she is.
Because gas-powered drivers never run out of gas?
I have tried to look up SCJNK, but can’t find a meaning...what does it mean?
What would she have done in a wildfire?
Satire is much harder to do than a decade ago.
If YOU study YOUR own energy consumption on a month-by-month basis and get a solar system customized for YOUR needs in YOUR climate paid for with YOUR money and convert YOUR gas appliances to high efficiency electric ones, then it works efficiently. That's why my system works well.
But when it's done with other people's money (i.e. "green" energy at the utility level is paid by the customers, not by the well-wishers of the utility company nor by the gubment control-freaks who force it onto people) then it works for nobody except the government cronies (mostly money going back to Cheyna, though my inverter and my solar panels were made in the U.S.).
She is the perfect person to promote electric vehicles. She actually convinced me of thier benefits. The first benefit is that is takes someone with a brain to operate them effectively. Therefore if we go all electric, we can anticipate that maybe half or more of the morons out there will be off the road, or disabled on the side of the road. That would mean upwards of 25% of current drivers will be removed. Since this is the part of the population that causes most of the accidents on the road and other problems in society. This will bode well for the future.
She needs a reliable charging device:
Some commies...
Considering CA buys power from AZ Nuclear plant, Oregon Hydro and probably NV, they are sure setting themselves up for a crash.
You’re not wrong there. She obviously has no idea how dirty it is to mine all of that nickel making up the batteries in that sucker, plus all of the plastic used, which is made from OIL.
Oh, you mean about the charging stations. That, too. She thinks batteries meant to move a ton or more of car will charge in an hour like her phone? That’s asinine.
Like that's energy efficient.
As a member of the High Exalted Class, she naturally believes she has a right to expect a dramatic rescue, rushed with a code three entourage to the temple gathering of her ilk. Or, apparently, an even more dramatic arrival as she is lowered into their midst by a hovering helicopter burning -—oh the horror— “fossil fuels”. Good Lord. A normal adult would have humbly realized their idiotic folly, perhaps even chuckled at themselves, then found a good place to park the vehicle and called a cab.
Maybe she should have called an Uber. One that was electric of course.
But idiots like her don’t think that far ahead.
I guess it really should be ACJNK [All commies...]
