As a hospital nurse my job is to administer meds prescribed by the physicians but not before I confirm it’s for the right patient, the right medication, the right dose, etc because I am the last line of defense to prevent harm to my patients. Alec Baldwin was, imho, the last line of defense to prevent harm to those on his set.

I have not acted in any movies. What does that have to do with properly handling a gun? It isn’t rocket science. Guns are potentially deadly and should be handled with utmost caution at all times.

It's not different than if he was handed a knife, told it was a dummy with a retracting knife when it was, in fact real, and then stabbed another actor by accident.

I understand your assessment. I’m speaking as someone who has taken 18 DAYS of firearms training before I became an NRA pistol instructor. Every instructor stresses knowledge of the firearm, ammunition, safety, and marksmanship. Baldwin failed on all counts.

BTW, I don’t care what his political views are or anything about his private life, because those have nothing to do with safe firearms practices.

Gun safety - yes it’s really this simple

1. Every Gun is loaded until you personally check to make sure it’s not loaded. Guilty until proven innocent.

2. Never point a gun at anything you are not prepared to kill.

3. Keep your fingers away from the trigger mechanism until you are ready to fire.

4. Pay attention to what’s behind your target (bullets can and do penetrate primary targets and hit secondary targets)

Alec Baldwin broke every one of those safety rules. That directly resulted in a woman’s death. He is responsible.
