I’m trying to figure out how Pelosi or McCarthy would end up being Harris’s VP.
I’m thinking back to Richard Nixon. When he resigned and Gerald Ford became the President, Carl Albert was Speaker of the House (yeah, never heard of him either). Ford picked Nelson Rockefeller to be his VP.
I think the list of succession is only for when both the President and VP are taken out at the same time.
Sounds like you had a great time, and you have a wonderful grandson!
ROFL
Yes I did have a grand time and love my sweet family!
So proud of him!
Thank you for your sweet reply!
“Ford picked Nelson Rockefeller to be his VP.”
I have some memory of that.
“How did Ford choose a VP?
On August 20, 1974, Ford nominated Nelson Rockefeller, the leader of the party’s liberal wing, for the vice presidency. ... Although conservative Republicans were not pleased that Rockefeller was picked, most of them voted for his confirmation, and his nomination passed both the House and Senate.”

“On January 26, 1979, at 12:20 AM, former Vice President Nelson Rockefeller died from a heart attack while sitting at his desk at Rockefeller Center, working on a book about his personal art collection.
At least, that was what the papers said.
In reality, on January 26, 1979, at 12:20 AM, former Vice President Nelson Rockefeller died from a heart attack while flat on his back and shoeless, in a secret apartment with Megan Marshack, a woman almost 50 years his junior.”

Rockefeller’s wife, “HAPPY” wasn’t to happy when this all came out.

1/4 From a friend who is former CIA and still connected massively in Afghanistan. “We are about to abandon Americans” The Admin refuses at this hour to change the August 31st drawdown date, which means it begins almost immediately.
2/4 This decision is NOT conditions based and advice from some people at high levels in US Intel and also our military is being “disregarded”. Also “Anybody not out by the time the last plane leaves gets cut away.”
3/4 In Kabul processing of Afghans has stopped.
The Panjshir Valley will likely be overrun soon. People trying to save high value targets like women who held high positions, or people whom worked with the US are not being allowed to move them.
4/4 US Intel fears that when we leave, the Taliban will take down the internet, expel foreign journalists and “eliminate people by the thousands...anyone who might remotely be a threat.” US Emergency teams are being told their only safety guarantee is to get on the next flight.

Honored to be officially sworn in as New York's 57th Governor.
Looking forward to the full swearing-in ceremony with my family later this morning, and addressing the people of New York later today.

You are wrong. There are many without the means to move and aren’t being allowed to move. You and others watering this down like people were late to the checkout line is sickening.

No one is stranded until we are no longer taking people out and the stranded someone is left there without a means to move.....so no, at this time, no one is stranded.
Good morning, exit. You are welcome.
And so it begins , NYS will sink lower and lower.
Everyone is hopeful today in NY, lysie.
But she is no Ron DeSantis.
BOLOGNA, Italy (AP) — For more than seven decades, Martin Adler treasured a black-and-white photo of himself as a young American soldier with a broad smile with three impeccably dressed Italian children he is credited with saving as the Nazis retreated northward in 1944.
On Monday, the 97-year-old World War II veteran met the three siblings — now octogenarians themselves — in person for the first time since the war.
Adler held out his hand to grasp those of Bruno, Mafalda and Giuliana Naldi for the joyful reunion at Bologna’s airport after a 20-hour journey from Boca Raton, Florida. Then, just as he did as a 20-year-old soldier in their village of Monterenzio, he handed out bars of American chocolate.”

My opinion is that there will not be a happy ending in Kabul.
Joe Biden, or more accurately, those who pull his strings, are about to subject the American people to a mass psychosis event to further humilate America and to assault the idea we cherish that we are a people who spread freedom.
People and fellow Americans are about to be abandoned there.
And they will be executed.
And we will be powerless, according to our so-called leaders, to do anything about it.
Keep in mind, all that has happened to date in Afghanistan, and will happen, is DELIBERATE.
It is not happenstance or the luck of the draw.
This was done intentionally, to gain this result.
Removal of Joe Biden will not fix the problem.
Our government in DC is actively working against us, in both parties.
I never thought I would write these words.
God help us.

The U.N. human rights chief Michelle Bachelet has warned that she received credible reports of severe abuses in areas under Taliban control in Afghanistan, including “summary executions” of civilians and security forces who had laid down their arms.
