Vanity - Company Requiring Employees to Say if They Have Been Vaccinated or Not

Posted on 07/13/2021 9:38:08 AM PDT by Blue Turtle

I have a very good job at a company I've worked for...for over 8 years. The Company is now requiring employees to say if they have been vaccinated or not...preparing us for our return next month and looking out for our safety... because the safety of all their employees is number one priority. If you say you have NOT been vaccinated, you will need to be tested every two weeks, wear a mask at all times, and be seated elsewhere. If you DO NOT RESPOND to the email, they will consider you UNVACCINATED. What the heck do I do at this point? This is utter evil. I can't believe I am living in this time. Any helpful responses would be appreciated.

Look for a new job elsewhere. You won’t find a better time to change jobs than right now.

I feel sorry for people who don't work for themselves. With the Corporatist/Government complex (fascists) deciding who gets hired and who does not, job seekers will have a hard time getting any work except in some Mom and Pop operations.

At the least, I would issue a formal written complaint. If enough workers say no, they may back down. But overall, my advice is pray and follow your conscience. There is a time for all things - there is a time to comply and a time to resist. You will have to use discernment to know what is the right course of action for you at this time.

I’m sorry about this situation. So many people like you are dealing with it and it’s very concerning that the private sector is rising up to be the strongarm of forced compliance.

Like others in this thread I’m in IT and Galting my way through my fifties, hoping to squirrel away enough to pull the damned ripcord and get off this hamster wheel.

The plan was going quite well until the scamdemic. You see, I happen to work in healthcare IT for a large hospital system..one that has been blustering and threatening to mandate the jabs because, you know, “Science”.

My wife and I and most of the people I care about have sworn not to submit to any mandates. Unfortunately I’m a terrible poker player and anything but an introvert so my stance is probably known to the HR suits by now. Eh...

Never lie. Omission is not necessarily a lie but a fib or white lie is just as detrimental as an outrageous lie. Stay under the radar as long as possible and if feasible look around and network. The number of good jobs available right now is staggering. It’s a seller’s market if you have a good resume’ and a decent, non-millennial work ethic.

The one downside to forms like that is that it is based heavily on the current situation where the COVID vaccines have not received full FDA approval. Once that approval is given, all bets are off and you’re going to need another angle to pursue.

Various state laws prohibit discrimination on the basis of creed.

“The New York Human Rights Law (NYHRL) is article 15 of the Executive Law (which is itself chapter 18 of the Consolidated Laws of New York) which prohibits discrimination on the basis of ‘age, race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, sex, marital status or disability’ in employment, housing, education, credit, and access to public accommodations. The law was originally passed in 1945 as the Law Against Discrimination, and was the first of its kind in the United States. It is enforced by the New York State Division of Human Rights.”

“The Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act passed in 2002 added ‘sexual orientation’; the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act is a bill that passed the New York state legislature in January 2019, to explicitly add ‘gender identity or expression’.”

Infants/toddlers are not jabbed, masked, so why should you be? They are out in the public have been since the beginning, have the worse immune systems. Take a photo of the babies in Maternity, not 1 has been vaccinated or wears a mask. Nor will when they go home. Look at the grocery store same thing no masks, not jabbed. To young.

People are sheep and cowards.

They want to keep their house, car or cars, and hobbies as such and need the money. They put all that ahead of freedom because they have had it good for so long, and now that the wolves are busy ripping and tearing, it’s not in their corner of the pasture yet, so they keep on going, maybe bleating a few times. They will inevitably meet the wolf anyways.

There may be a handful that stand up and become sheep dogs, but there won’t be many.

You're right, it is evil what is happening to our country. I heard this morning that approximately 9,125 people have died after getting the vaccine and that number is for America only. More people have been hospitalized due to vaccine issues than Covid itself. Even the AMA has recently stated that the vaccine has caused inflammation in the heart particularly in young men. It may be a rare occurrence but there is a link. Why should someone demand anyone take a risk like that? It's none of their business hippa or not.

If the number of unvaccinated people is large enough at your company, perhaps all of you can cause a major disruption in productivity by not coming in to work, that is if your positions are skilled enough.

I'm looking for a class action lawsuit regarding this b.s. Hopefully, that is happening somewhere. Good luck to you.

The original poster has the option of not saying anything at all -- in which case he will be treated as an unvaccinated employee.

I would refuse to answer that stupid question even if I WAS vaccinated.

*facepalm*

It’s not brave to wear a mask, it’s harmful to one’s self. She should not be doing that. Don’t play their game by their rules, the game is rigged.

Site HIPAA.

After dealing professionally with HIPAA for 17 years and my rough understanding of the situation, they can legally ask you, you can site medical privacy as a reason not to disclose. Their HIPAA responsibilities start once you tell them one way or the other. Anyone outside of the person/dept. that asks the question finds out your medical status and they are in violation of HIPAA. If they treat you different they are letting everyone know what your status is. As I see it, an enterprising and vicious lawyer could make themselves, and their clients very rich off this.

Ummm....their immune system's are just fine.

I don't work in a Hosp that has a Maternity floor.

I'm not sure what your point is..........

Its like the 1930”s Jews in Germany who kept fooling themselves thinking it would not get worse and so did not leave. Those with discernment knew where things were headed and left, saving their lives.

another possibility is if you DO agree to vax to save your job, present them with a legal document drafted by a lawyer (on the lawyer’s letterhead) and properly notarized by you that specifies you are taking the vax under protest and sets forth the company’s liability should you take ill from the vaccination ... have the lawyer make it pretty onerous, including medium and long term effects like autoimmune illnesses that can be traced to the vaccination ... if they refuse to sign it (they’ll probably forward it to their lawyers and that could delay the issue for a few weeks) ...

if they flat-out refuse on the spot, then forward the document to their lawyers via certified, return receipt required, but reformulate the document saying that you are being forced to undertake a non-FDA-approved medical procedure under protest, that your HIPAA rights are being violated, and that you WILL hold the company liable in the future ...

“Infants/toddlers” that have been born since things starting shutting down may not be as immune to Covid.

read Table 1 for 0-4 year olds in Mexico:

Yes, the similarities to 1930s Germany right now are through the roof, and I’m dismayed to see that more people don’t see that.

They’ll keep blindly following along because they want safety. Perceived safety at least.

State laws vary a tad, but generally speaking employers have the right to ask for this information. You have a right (to medical privacy via HIPAA) not to give it to them if you want, but they seem to have a plan for that (treat anyone who won’t provide the information as if they’re unvaccinated).

At which point you have a couple options that come with potential consequences:

1) Get the vaccine
2) Don’t get the vaccine, be honest (or silent) about that, deal with the consequences.
3) Don’t get the vaccine, lie about that and don’t have any work consequences of not having the vaccine but risk being instantly fired for cause if they find out you lied.
4) Find another job.

Assuming they company can’t be talked out of their stance, those are realistically your only options. Figure out which one works best for you.

In some industries finding another job is easy so #4 is an option and the risk associated with #3 is minimal. In some industries it’s much harder so the risk of #3 is high and #4 isn’t really an option. And the level of proof for #3 might shift, making it easy to lie today but difficult tomorrow. There are, of course, also moral considerations about #3. Make your own evaluations about how to proceed.

Personally, I’d recommend honesty about your status.
