So, my wife and I were looking at moving back to NE Alabama after a year displaced by COVID. We had a place lined up that fell through due to some septic issues. We've been checking out listings as they pop up and today saw a 4 bed, 2 bath come on the market with 1,911 sq. ft and 3.4 acres, that noted, "Plus Fenced in Area for Farm Animals!"

So, I'm checking out the pics, and there's some kind of critter that looks like a mix between a hyena and a pig with mange. WTF is that?

Rat hanging in the fence. Dog looks like a Blue Heeler. They come in red too and can look kind of pink. Alabama is it’s own special world. Been here since 1965. Good place to be.

We lived in Cook Springs out in the woods. There was a farm nearby that has a donkey band an Emu that regularly escaped and roamed onto our property....

I might be able to dig up a 7-br/3-bath 5000+ sq ft mansion in rural NW TN, were you to catch me in the right mood. I’ve been torn between moving there myself and escaping the city - but the problem is that I find it difficult to move out of “DeSantis territory” in FL.

Lol! Reminds me of an episode from the 1960s TV series Green Acres, where animals from a traveling zoo escape and roam over to the Douglas farm. Everyone of course thought he was nuts when he claimed to have seen a zebra, chimpanzee and other exotic animals.
