There appears to be a growing dispute regarding reasons to hesitate taking the CV-19 vaccines. Many from Dr. Michael Yeardon's angle (who does not believe in immune escape) advise to not take the vaccine since there appears to be something sinister in the motives of people promoting it. While on the other side, there are many who pay attention to Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche who believes the vaccine is excellent, but due to inevitable immune escape, they will be ruining their immune system in fighting future Corona Viruses (I think that is an accurate interpretation). Both seem to be qualified doctors to give their opinions and not some clown in their parents basement making monetized fear videos.
I am not a scientist, but like being informed from many doctors' opinions with all sides. Any Freepers have input about these gentlemen? Welcome input from folks pro-vaccine as well.
My unqualified definition, is pathogens escaping one’s immune system due to a sub optimal immune response. (viruses mutate and get around an immune response - becoming stronger)
That only applies to abortion.
That is currently where I am. I am in my late forties and reason that my risk is extremely low.
Having Leukemia I am very hesitant in taking the Vaccine.
I will be discussing whether to take it or not with my Oncologist next week.
So far everyone in my immediate Family has been Vaccinated with no issues outside of having a sore Arm.
Why rush? Wait. See.

In a shorthand, layman’s explanation (mine) immune escape is when a virus or other pathogen avoids the immune system e.g. the immune system cannot recognize it as a foreign invader and/or cannot learn how to stop it. It could be due to mutations, or it could be due to weakened immune systems or genetics or age or other factors. But I’ll defer to people with more expertise for correction and amplification on the answer.
Not familiar with these people. I get my info from looking at studies and statistics.
The first step in the decision-making process should be to be tested for immunity.
Don’t know how one goes about that.
If you don’t have lots of antibodies then you’re better off to take the shot if you’re old or frail.
1. COVID-19 is not overly lethal for most people. Even those with aggravating conditions have a high survival rate. I see no reason to take an experimental vaccine to protect me against a disease that isn’t much more harmful than the seasonal flu.
2. I have no confidence in the safety of these experimental vaccines.
3. I have no confidence in the effectiveness of these experimental vaccines. If I have to get another vaccine in six months, than what’s the point? Will I be taking this sh!t for the rest of my life?
4. Pharmaceutical firms that make these experimental vaccines authorized for “emergency use” by the FDA are given legal immunity from lawsuits related to harmful side effects and product defects. That itself ought to be a giant red flag for anyone who is even considering a vaccine for a viral pathogen that has such a low fatality rate.
5. Every time some government bureaucrat jackass like Anthony Fauci shows up on TV wearing one or more face diapers and tells us we need to continue to take restrictive measures to protect ourselves even AFTER getting a vaccine, I have no reason to believe that these vaccines have any purpose whatsoever.
Our neighbor is a nurse practitioner and a firm believer in vaccines. This one? She said it will be a long dang time before she takes it.
I know a woman in her 60’s. She lives in Chicago. Over the years some people in her family have been high up in the Pfizer administration. She went to her doctor at the Prestigious North Western Hospital and she asked if she should get the Vaccine, he told her NO. She said, “Boy, am I glad my doctor is honest”
I told my doctor I wouldn’t take it and he agreed ‘that is the best choice’. So there ya have it!
Taking or not taking the Jab is a personal decision.
I chose not to take the Jab. But those that choose to it’s their decision to make. Not mine or anybody else’s business

I see no reason to tempt fate when the risk of the disease is so low. Vaccines have long-term effects that don't show up of awhile.
I'll pass on the vaccine and take my chances with the covid.

The constant media push for everyone to get vaccinated, especially children who are virtually at no risk, tells me something very sinister is going on.
If the vaccine works and you take it why the heck should you care whether or not I take it?
That's not science. Science is repeating the exact same methods and exact same controls to prove and predict the outcome to some high degree of confidence. That is why the FDA normally requires all new drugs to go through multiple randomized clinical trials. Usually two Phase 3 trials, which come after multiple Phase I and Phase II trials. They are usually very highly controlled to repeat results - they can't just change the protocols at whim and call it "science".
Agree with comment 13. Flags went up for me very early when any treatment of covid, particularly HCQ and Ivermectin, were talked down and unsubstantially rumored to be a health hazard. Couple this with the vaccine won’t necessarily stop me from getting covid, won’t stop me from spreading covid and is not risk free from complications. All of this results in me relying upon my immune system.
