Many have offered up reasons for the military buildup all over the country, including over 26,000 in DC alone. I've pondered this for days and here's all I've been able to come up with:
1. You don't need 26,000 national guard troops to guard DC.
2. The people from Jan. 6, whichever sides they were on, are not hanging around for another run at the Capitol.
3. I do not believe the theory that these troops are there to round up all of the leftist criminals and send them to Guantanamo.
4. The only logical explanation is that this a show of force by the new regime. This still seems like overkill. Note that they're now vetting these guardsmen and have rejected two of them for "far-right connections."
5. You don't spend this kind of money and show of force for a single event if you can kill several birds with one stone. I theorize that the Biden administration is going to be making several highly consequential announcements in the first week of his presidency, and these will all be highly unpopular with about 50% of the country. THIS is why the troops are necessary in DC and throughout the country. We're being told about some of these announcements, but let's see what all gets slapped down on the Oval office desk in the next 14 days. Whatever is coming down the pike, the Leftists are worried that the citizens will revolt as the tidal wave of leftist gobbledygook is rolled out.
Does anyone know when the troops are supposed to leave? If what I said above is true, they won't be leaving right away.

My guess is that they would have been embarrassed when no one showed up for Biden’s sham presidency inauguration so its better to have a bunch of National Guard there instead.

President Trump controls the military and would not order a show of force on behalf of Biden.
Absolutely agree. This is “Biden’s” boot on our necks. They are emboldened, they are coming right at us and will use Americans to kill Americans. Afterall, it wouldn’t be the first time it has happened in world history.
I’ll play the guessing game. New York issues an arrest warrant tomorrow and the Secret a service dutifully takes him into custody. And the national guard says “what are you gonna do about it, MAGA scum?’

The Left would turn him into a martyr. I doubt that is what Joe wants because every one would be ignoring him now.
Somebody posted it here but I can't attest to the accuracy. The Capital Police follow no policy or "Right to Know" laws so they ain't telling. Even US Senators have complained.

Biden couldn’t have ordered those troops in.
Something is afoot for sure.
26,000 National guard.
Add to that the DC cops, the Capitol police, FBI agents, Secret Service, ATF, US Marshals, cops from NYC....and I would bet there are 40,000 badge toting, gun toting cops in town.
And almost no spectators or tourists.
And they know by now that the trouble makers of January 6 probably totaled fewer than 100-200.
What would make us so mad that they might need 40,000 body guards?
2nd Amendment.
Something evil to Trump and his family.
Something in WikiLeaks papers.
Expulsion of all congressmen/women that might be on some secret list? This one is intriguing because there is some reason that almost everyone is deserting Trump and his ideas as well. Running scared (as in terrified).
We will soon know.
