I have been posting articles on FR off and on for 22 years, and in that time I have become very good at using HTML to create the type of posts I like. Yet ever since FR changed the carrier of the site, none of my links work on articles I post. I have not changed what I use as HTML code, it's just that what I use does not work on FR any more. And not only links, but much of the HTML on my profile page is all screwed up as well.
Is there a logical reason for this?
I used the link to your FreeRepublic.com profile, at W3C Markup Validation Service:

Do not panic, at the results.
Take your time, looking down thru the results. You will find some obvious HTML errors / problems.
Most my links are dead since the change over. They used to work.
That is what I am talking about
We had similar html problems several years ago after a major FR software upgrade.
I remember having to use a special strict ascii notepad type program to formulate posts with html because the FR software would change the text coding.
It took a while for John to work that/those bug(s) out.
Yes I see your cat, cute Viking Kitty.
The amount one donates is never given, just the ones who do donate.
There are many FR thread posters who do not donate.
There are many who have never posted a thread who donate.
There are many who rarely post at reply who donate and those who do not ever reply who donate.
Wow, that sounds like what is happening to my posts.
See, I code the HTML in my word program and then copy it over to FRs posting page and I even test the links in preview before posting.
Everything works in Preview, but after I hit post the links are all broken.
When I checked the preview of my post, it had all the proper HTML language needed to format a website. When it got posted, I got this as my post: “Any title you want the link to appear in the posting” Indeed, something is not right.
Wrong. I do not have to be listed,

A lot of people who donate regularly click the ‘anonymous’ button and aren’t listed on the donors list.
I can tell you the hadith site has been defunct for several years.
You can relink them to sunnah.com and you should revise the citations to the primary scheme at that site.
Take this as an opportunity.
One of the truly GREAT things about FR is the simplicity of JohnRob’s software. It’s intentionally simple, it renders correctly on just about any computer including really dumb ones (think back to 1997), and it’s quick (barring server/network issues).
The very last thing I would ever want is for FR’s software to get fancy and start looking and acting like Facebook.
But that also means that sometimes, fancy features don’t work right.
Oh well. That’s why Notepad still exists. :-)
yup... and a fine looking cat it is!
No, that is not obligatory for anyone who has been around here for 22 years, noob.
Deaf Smith: No offense, but you’re on the wrong end of this argument. When you make a donation you can specify anonymity, as OneVike does. Not being in the Donor List doesn’t mean you didn’t donate.
That’s a Savannah - and not really mine. I swiped it from Wiki.
My cats are far more personable.
that’s what i’m thinking
