Eating just one egg a day increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 60 per cent, according to a new study.
Australian researchers who studied a sample of 8,545 Chinese adults found a positively correlation between higher egg consumption and high blood sugar levels in Chinese adults.
Eggs are versatile and nutritious and are promoted as a 'healthy fast food' in the UK, but have proved the ultimate conundrum for diabetes researchers.
Previous studies have indicated that eating eggs can actually keep diabetes at bay, adding a confusing mix of scientific literature to the debate.
This new research suggests regular consumption of an egg a day – either boiled, scrambled, poached or fried – makes you more prone to the condition, which occurs when a person's blood sugar is too high.

So that makes it the Easter Bunny’s fault..
Sorry I got mixed up.
I believe that like I believe the studies that coffee is good for you/kills you, wine is good for you/kills you, and all the other scare stories that the media loves to cover.
This would be a big surprise for me since, from June to now, enjoying a lot of eggs has helped me lose 29 pounds so far using WW. My blood glucose has gone to normal as has my A1C.
From the article, it already has: “Preciously studies have indicated that eating eggs can actually keep diabetes at bay, adding a confusing mix of scientific literature to the debate.”
Lol. They just go back and forth depending on who funds the “study”. The Egg Council is hiring a new panel of “eggsperts” at this very instant.
eating can raise your risk.... high level of correlation
“Dr Li said more research is needed to explore causal relationships – whether they can prove egg eating is the cause of diabetes. “
"Danger: Everyone who drinks water eventually dies."
Yes, and scientific studies will show us why...

(I saw your funny post, so I had to go look for some studies. Sorry!) :-)
Not a problem; I think this one is a goodie:
Nonsense. They go back and forth on eggs being good and bad.
What’s bad is all the studies.
Makes a person want to switch to Scotch or something! :-)
Eggs are the most nutritionally perfect food — so much so that whole new lives are born out of them.
But it seems like these dietetic and diabetic associations want people to eliminate all these healthy foods so people become unhealthy — which is a windfall for their special interest group. One can hardly blame these “starving writers” for writing whatever somebody will pay them to write — particularly in this era of Covid. At least, that is the excuse.
Instead, they replace these perfectly suited foods with highly-processed “fake foods” — that taste as good or even better (sweeter) than the nutritious foods, fooling many people into thinking they are even better than wholesome, nutritious foods.
But what happens in time, is that eliminating all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids, which are the basic building blocks of the human body, eventually causes these age-related diseases — particularly the shrinkage of the brain and muscles — by this dietary advice, and giving people the green light to load up on carbohydrates (sugar) as much as possible — which anybody with a glucometer will note causes a rise in blood sugar levels, accompanied by the rise in insulin levels to get it out of the blood as quickly as possible or one dies.
And predictably if one does that too often, the body just gives up — and figures that person deserves to die. That’s true whether one is Steve Jobs or Bill Gates — and thinks that they’re smarter than all the rest, and can eat all the sugar and carbohydrates they want — and it is not going to knock out their pancreas, brains and muscles — which must deteriorate because of that deprivation. It is not so much age-related diseases as a process of time.
But usually long before the ultimate end, some minor infection will come along and take out all these immunocompromised people existing on carbohydrate (plant-based) only diets. No essential nutrients are available to rebuild and recover. All the sugar (carbohydrates) in the world, will not change that.
It’s the toast and home fries that get you in the end.
