Ventura County planned to post only its vote-by-mail returns on Tuesday night, not its in-person results. L.A. County, where several centers enabled voters to vote in person, was posting results from early vote-by-mail ballots received before Tuesday. Then, the registrar will post results from Election Day in-person votes. The rest of the votes will be counted through the remainder of the week.
The registrar has until June 1 to certify the election.
Since the 32K per day of new cases we were seeing a month ago can be deemed to be RECOVERED now, less a debatable (but much smaller) number of deaths, LOGIC says that the UNIVERSE of CURRENT CASES is now SHRINKING by about 10K per day
Less people to spread infection each day ... and less people susceptible (because they are already immune) is the way a viral epidemic dies out.

I haven’t seen evidence that he is corrupt, and I don’t think he is evil, but he has been wrong. He has been wrong a lot.
He’s proof that being in a job a long time may result in deep experience, but also locks a person into one way of thinking and breeds a sense of invincibility by thinking that past experience is always the best preparation to deal with future threats. All of his professional experience convinced him to rely on models, first the Oxford one which is pure shite, and then the UWash one, which was just wrong. Having tunnel vision with regard to modelling produced bad decisions, and the fact that they were bad models made them even worse.
He may have been the right person on the org chart but he was the wrong person to lead the formulation of policy on this virus.
