In fact if I were Trump, Id call in all the big box people, Walmart, Costco etc and tell them to tell to immediately develop *temporary* policies where the panicked and greedy can only have two cases of water per person or 3 bottles of hand sanitizer, etc...No more BS where ya see people rolling out with 3 full baskets of tissues, water, sanitizer etc.
Id put of quick stop to that nonsense.
Yes until the situation stabilizes
I see too many dirtbag looking people with loads and loads of items they pretty obviously intend to resell
That was the only aisle that was closed. Meat department was sort oF slim pickings, but really not as bad as I feared.
“The fear-based panic-buyers are the ones creating that which they claim to fear - the shortages.”
Exactly. This is exactly what our rat media wanted, create desperate panic to to help them push their narrative.
Went to the grocery store yesterday. I live in Liberal Central. Monkey County in the Peoples Republic of Maryland and the only things gone from the shelves were rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizers,
Thank you for your input, Walter.
I couldn’t resist.
I just checked. Four rolls of Scotts for $24.99.
Sheesh!
In the Walmart we went to today, they had a line of people waiting for employees to give them the rationed amount of toilet paper. The government does not need to intervene in this.
Caught it, huh?
100%
I fully support when Trump requests that News Media tell the truth.
I suppose some see that as Government incursion into the free press.
No. Deal with it. There is enough government interference in our daily lives. The only responsibility the government has to Americans is national defense.
The question that was put up was ‘should the government step in and limit how much stuff people can buy?’
There are a lot of different facets to that, and the one that first struck me was the difference of the culture from the WWII era.
I think, because I didn’t live it, that people from that era would be stunned if they were thrust into today’s culture and saw how intrusive government is in our daily lives. Probably even more troubled at how accepting everyone is of that intrusion.
I know I am.
I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and my parents were resourceful and knew how to make do and it’s troubling that it seems like that resourcefulness has been lost.
Definitely caught it, Mike.
Who knows.
No. This is America not Stalin’s Soviet Union.
Not me.
The supply chain will equalize...and just how many rolls of TP does one household need?
Stores are able to restock overnight.
There’s plenty to ride out the fools, who will be left holding a ton of stuff in the garage...then wasting much of it.
And official request just interferes with the natural order. And it will drive up demand.
Why stop with Trump just asking retailers? Why not have Trump order them to curtail purchases?
Better yet nationalize all the retail stores. Government run stores. That way the nanny state can take care of us all.
I know. It’s sad.
No, but I’d support the president having another press conference with the CEOs of the largest grocery chains and having them let the people know that the stores are not going to be closed. That they will be kept stocked and there is no need to panic shop and hoard.
Photo shows a perfect time to disinfect the shelves.
I've noted your suggestion. Maybe you should start a thread about that and see how it rolls.☺
