New York Times columnist Paul Krugman is appearing to be having technical difficulties as he acknowledged Wednesday on Twitter that his IP address had been "compromised" and used to "download child pornography."
"Well, Im on the phone with my computer security service, and as I understand it someone compromised my IP address and is using it to download child pornography," Krugman wrote in the tweet. "I might just be a random target. But this could be an attempt to Qanon me. Its an ugly world out there."
Qanon is a reference to the group of conspiracy theorists who in recent years spread incriminating myths against many high-profile Democrats on social media.

Pedopaul Krugman..............
No, usually you get the same one. But the problem with the claim is the IP address is meaningless. IP addreses don't download child porn. Browsers running on the IP do that. If his computer is hacked it means someone is on his computer simulating a browser, downloading child porn. That's not very likely except for a targeted attack.
From the outside, all the IPs logged at the child porn site are the same no matter who fetched the stuff. But the other info like browser string is different and that's also stored at the server.
At the very least you should be able to prove it was not from your computer, but the cops who confiscate your computer could obfuscate or lie about that.
The local mac never leaves the subnet. Doesn't go in the TCP header. The router's mac goes in the TCP header.
Irrelevant. The router's mac is in the TCP header, spoofed or not. The mac of his own computer is not in the TCP header. Proves nothing either way. The only thing that matters here is whether his computer was hacked and remotely controlled to download child porn. That's not very likely.
I watch many Law & Order: SVU reruns. One just played in last few months where some innocent man’s wireless or something was used to mask the identity of a kiddie perv’s actions. He probably watched it too. Some neighbor offered an old man to set up “cable” for him, an instead, the old man’s wireless was used for evil purposes.
My first assumption is he is about to be charged, and is guilty. I can’t stand him, but weird things can happen, maybe he is being framed.
“Oh... thanks. I was wondering because we see so much Jared Kushner hate here. Never heard of this other Jared until now.”
I was wondering if the Jared was Jared Kushner, because of the irrational hate some here have for him.
New York Times Op-Ed columnist Paul Krugman may have a Nobel Laureate but he appears to be just as vulnerable to everyday cyber attacks as the average Joe.
First, he told his 4.6 million Twitter followers on Wednesday that bad actors had taken over his IP address. “Well, Im on the phone with my computer security service, and as I understand it someone compromised my IP address and is using it to download child pornography,” Krugman wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “I might just be a random target. But this could be an attempt to Qanon me. Its an ugly world out there.”
Qanon is used to describe far-right conspiracy theorists who believe in a deep state that is threatening to take down President Trump.
He then followed up, in a tweet, saying that the “Times thinks it may have been a scam. Anyway, will have more security in future.”
Even so, Krugman’s allegations prompted a fierce backlash from social media, with many calling the economist’s bluff from the get-go.

You betcha
The fact that some Leftists are blaming Qanon makes me rethink how much credence to give it...might be valuable if they see it as a danger.
Ever listen to Townsend? Ever wonder why police dropped charges? Because he DID notify them ahead of time, and he HAS written songs about pedophilia.
I would make the same claim if I were caught with kiddie porn on my computer
Yeah either “hackers” took control of the computer with a secret file to download the material, or the other excuse is it was only on the computer because they were “researching” for a story or report.
#pedogate or #pizzagate is real.
Caught with his pants down.
