Almost nobody noticed this, but back in December a chunk of space rock slammed into the Earth's atmosphere at 32km/sec over the Bering sea. The aerodynamic forces tore it apart and it released energy equivalent to a 170 kiloton weapon.

For those that know, does this explosion rival Hiroshima, just to get an idea of the strength.
The scary part...for all our watching, no one saw it coming.
This explosion was about ten times that of the nuclear explosion at Hiroshima.

Yeah, the only reason many of these have been learned about is the existence of nuclear weapons around the world.
The more poignant question would be:
If an asteroid makes a 2.5kton explosion, how does this affect climate change?
Who is going to see her to find out?
