I never post, but this is noteworthy. Brewer's yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is responsible for five percent of our gross domestic product. From bread to beer and beyond, this fungus has an incredible impact on our lives. Fungi are important!

I almost had some mold a couple nights ago. The cheese went bad and I tried to make some cheese melts. When I took the tortillas out of the microwave, there were little furry green spons. I had already had a couple servings of salad with that cheese.

yikes

Oops

Good hippie stuff
I used to sprinkle it on Salads with brags aminos
The beer brewers used to end up with tons of it thrn marketed it to hippies dried in the 70s
It tastes pretty good and salty. Has lotsa B vitamins

My highest blessing to you your most honorable Nullness: may mushrooms always grow on your front lawn, and may the nullness never face fungi in the void, even Morchella esculenta.

Fungi are our eurkaryotic relatives.

From Wiki:

It is estimated at least 31% of yeast genes have homologs in the human genome.

I had sauteed mushrooms with my steak this evening. I...I hope it wasn’t any of your relatives. And beer. (Doffs hat). Without beer the range of human creativity would be sadly attenuated. Without it, would anyone ever think of lighting bottle rockets from his butt crack? I thought not. Hail Fungi!

Beware the blue cheese, if you are allergic to penicillin. Our son had an allergic reaction to blue cheese, much like a penicillin reaction. Was very bad.

I ate bread all my life- until about 8 years ago - suddeny I started getting itching rashes that drove me crazy- It took me 3 years to figure out that it was bread causing it.

I found that the symptoms went away if I took benedryl. So it must be an allergic reaction... so by process of elimination I figured out it was wheat products.

I don’t know if it is the chemicals they are puttin on it (roundup?) or genetically modified- but I can’t eat it anymore.

It also causes inflamation in my joints to the point my doctor told me I needed a hip replacement- I stopped eating bread and it went away 100%.
