There are more than 200 members of the violent, El Salvadorian MS-13 gang in the Long Island, New York area, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBIs Long Island Gang Task Force Director Geraldine Hart told NBC New York in an interview that members of MS-13 bolster their ranking among other gangs by using violence.
Hart told the media that the MS-13 gang problem, specifically as its members are usually illegal immigrants, is a national issue across the U.S.
This is not a local problem, Hart told NBC New York. This is a national and international problem. We know that there are direct links from El Salvador up here into the New York area.
The area of Brentwood, Long Island, more precisely, has undergone a transformation due to the MS-13 gang and its roots in illegal immigration.
As the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) notes, MS-13 flourished in Brentwood as placement of unaccompanied minor illegal immigrant children grew more than 100 percent from 2015 to 2016.

Sounds like good reasons to be executed.
Social theory:
We have more bad people than we used to because we ended the death penalty and these bad guys are reproducing. In the old days, the town strung them up pretty quickly...and they didn’t get much of a chance to reproduce their twisted genetics.
The MS13 gang has cliques, or factions, located throughout the United States and is unique in that 'it retains it's ties' to their El Salvador counterparts..... With cliques in Washington DC, Oregon, Alaska, Arkansas, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Bradenton Florida, Canada, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and several other South American countries,......... the MS13 gang is truly international and on the verge of becoming the first gang to be categorized as an organized crime entity....
I bet it’s hard to find anyone with money on Long Island that isn’t doing drugs...
It's an interesting distinction.
It would appear that one would live 'in' an island when it's a sovereign nation, but live 'on' an island when it's merely a part of a larger political union.
In England, Japan, the state of Hawaii, but -
On The Isle of Man, Okinawa, Oahu, etc.
30 people per house, that’s how! LOTS of entitlements!
If we know who they are why aren’t they in jail?
Drug trade.
Yup. All talk... no action.
Agreed.
That is why tried and executed is the only answer.
Yeah, right!
And there are only 11 million illegals in the US.
So.....if we know this, why aren’t they being rounded up and sent back to El Salvador?
Hopefully, not for long!
Deport! Deport! Deport! (Or shoot; I don’t care.)
Both of my young adult children have been warned to not even drive through Brentwood under any circumstance.
Hey Agent Hart,
DO YOUR BLANKIN’ JOB!!
We lived in Northport in the mid 70’s. I had a friend in Babylon and driving through Brentwood was one way of reaching her home. Back then I avoided it at all cost.
As an aside, I grew up on the Island and we always said we lived “on” it.
Unincorporated area s like New Cassel in Nassau and Brentwood, Central Islip in Suffolk, and villages that have long been mijnority like Hempstead Village are areas where many speculators have bought homes, divided them and rent them either to Title 8 renters or illegals. There is often no oversight from the jurisdiction so these speculators pile in the illegals, very often sijngle young men. Also unlike gang banger groups like Crips and Bloods MS 13 members do not sit around drinking 40s and smoking blunts. They have real day jobs with landscapers and home improvement outfits which L I as in the thousands. So they haved real income while conducting drug and protection business after work hours.
“It would appear that one would live ‘in’ an island when it’s a sovereign nation, but live ‘on’ an island when it’s merely a part of a larger political union.”
Amazing the things that can arise here on FR.
We can live “in” a house, but “on” a boat.
WE ride “in” a car but ride “on” a train.
