If you're a mindless DT groupie don't read this
An Inconvenient Trump? Ivanka brings Al Gore to Trump Tower to talk climat...
Al Gore has Ivanka's ear. And Donald listens to Ivanka.

BS. Using tax cuts to save jobs is quite conservative and has been done for years by conservative governors. The tax cuts pay for themselves over the long run because more people end up working.
Selecting someone who is a huge common core supporter for education is NOT conservative.
Betsy Devos has come out and openly rejected common core. Common core is a state issue anyway. Stop lying.
All the other things on wish list Trump didn't run on.
What we have here is the return of the #Never Trump nit wits that opposed him from the start and now won't even given him a chance despite the fact there is no evidence that he has changed his position on a single issue.
Why you come clean. Did you vote for Trump?
He met with Dan Quayle too. He’s picking brains and sizing up people. Ivanka does not run her father. He does what he wants to do and thinks will be good for the country and American workers/business. Gore is none of that. She has a voice in the process and that’s it.
He put in workplace child care because he wanted it; not because Ivanka wanted it.
Maybe we should try to get closer to a free market. Historically, the free-er a market, the more prosperous the market.
It seemed your initial comment was denigrating free markets. Perhaps I was mistaken in that assumption.
I would also urge you to look further into this statement...
Where manipulation by the current winners to keep innovations from seeing the light of day, are not allowed to take place.
If the "manipulation" involves leveraging market advantages to create a better or cheaper end product than competitors, it is a positive for the market. If the "manipulation" involves the purchase of legal force (government) to use against competitors or customers then it is a negative force in the market.
The cRuzer-loser butthurt continues. Not helpful or healthy, Mark.
That is not manipulation, that is innovation as long as it is done fairly, and scrupulously.
It seemed your initial comment was denigrating free markets. Perhaps I was mistaken in that assumption
Yes you were, it was meant to denigrate people who continually throw out buzz words without really understanding that what we have are not free markets at all. Some winners are being picked by the market place, but too many are also being picked by government coercion.
Actually “I” did not say it - I copied it from an older FR post and would give attribution, but only have the copy and don’t know the date and cannot find who posed it!!!
Of course I did you dumbass.
I have voted 100% GOP ever since I have started to vote for decades. I have never voted for any candidate at any level that wasn’t on the GOP ticket.
Doesn’t mean I just have to kiss his ring. I don’t agree with some of his choices and as a conservative we better speak up about...geez we almost got Romney as one of his choices.
Many Never Trumper conservatives would have more credibility if they weren’t shills for Dubya for eight years. Very deeply principled conservatism, right there.
Knowing Trumps historyin making deals, it is more likely that Gore gets sucked into Trumpism lol
I am all for the conservative aspects of Trump’s plan, thats why I voted for him.
I don’t understand why anyone would just want to sit down and shut up. Many people out here now respond like the brain-dead liberal lemmings that just go along.
We will see if common core gets repealed...
Would you have been happy with Romney or Huntsman?
I have no idea why people won’t speak up if they disagree.
Do you think the Carrier deal was conservative?
Levin is a mindless eGOP groupie.
Above is among the most illogical and uninformed statement I have seen on FR in some time.
It shows complete lack of understanding of why we have 94 million Americans without jobs, why middle class wages have stagnated for 2 decades, and the corrosive effect of Obamacare on the job market.
Just think if Ford can build an ultra-modern car factory for $3 Billion, how many factories and infra-structure can be built with $800 Billion EVERY YEAR we piss away in foreign trade deficits. No one has talked about this rape of US middle class manufacturing jobs except Trump, in the last 3 decades. It is the single most important reason why Trump triumphed over unprecedented odds, beating out the best GOP field of candidates in a century, and the multi-Billion dollar campaign of Hilda-beast. Trump was the first candidate to crack the rust-belt since Reagan.
I also "listen" to a lot of people, as does Trump. Then we each decide which way to go and do so. Even those who are usually on the wrong side slip into an occasional insight.
I fully understand why we have the lowest participation rate in decades...its because we haven’t implemented a conservative agenda.
Its always a progressive agenda.
Keep in mind Trump is all for continued Federal intervention into the markets and it will still create distortions that someone will have to bear the cost somewhere.
What he did with Carrier is just bad practice.
The economic concepts being bantered about by Bannon are terribly bad ideas. A one trillion dollar stimulus? Since when is that conservative?
Keep in mind Bannon made the statement...now that Trump has won it is like the 1930’s again...like somehow anything good came out of the 1930’s? Do you remember anything positive from that decade?
Trump prevailed because he “wasn’t” one of them. This political pattern has played out many times in history there is nothing new here. He has a mandate, I just wish he was really pushing a no-compromise conservative and free-market agenda.
There is NOTHING to critique yet, but there you go. He's NOT chosen a Secretary of State, he's NOT agreed to throw in with Al Gore. So far his cabinet and staff choices have been nothing short of brilliant, as Mike Pence has pointed out time and again. Conservative, engaged, and perfect for the job. (Yep, that's what Pence keeps telling us, buckle up because so much needs to be done and will be done).
Yet because he actually spoke with Al Gore, because he spoke with Mitt Romney, you come out of the closet and spew your nonsense. You have zero idea what was said in those meetings. Zero.
You were the one who said he could never win when we argued about polls last winter/Spring, that Cruz was the only one who could beat Hillary because polls showed that to be true in February of 2016. You were wrong then, you're wrong now. You were ignorant then, you're ignorant now. Instead of bitching about nothing, why don't you actually do something to help forward the agenda, because what you are doing is just bitching about nothing. You've done that ever since Cruz was starting to get beaten like a red headed step child in the primaries and you can't stop going back to the vomit.
Just once, maybe you could help forward a real agenda, rather than be such a negative nabob. Just once, maybe you could marvel at how Trump has done such great things in such a short time. Just once, help him push something good for the country. Just once.
Please go back to Berlin and play with Angela and her refugees. You deserve each other. Along with Levin. What petulant, thin skinned phonies you all are.
Your post above (#173) gets the Gold Star for today.
So true. NB simply can't set aside his blatant disdain for President-elect Trump. There's little need to cite the examples, as they are self-evident to any sentient FReeper.
No matter what the topic is, it's invariably laced with overt denigration of the President-elect. The man hasn't even been inaugurated yet, but the concept of giving someone the benefit of the doubt remains alien to NB.
You see, in NB's mind, Ted Cruz wuz robbed! It should be Cruz who is sitting as President-elect, for only he possesses the ideological purity (except for those TPP and NBC annoyances) that is necessary to avoid the endless grousing and derogation which must be heaped on the "unclean" and unworthy President-elect.
NB simply can't disguise his dislike for Donald J. Trump, and that bias, for months now, has tainted every syllable he posts to this forum. As such, it utterly negates anything constructive that he might be able to contribute to an otherwise hopeful and positive ongoing conversation.
Instead, it's just endless distrust and hopelessly self-indulgent hand-wringing, ad nauseam and ad infinitum.
NB is living proof that erudition and eloquent analysis can only go so far when such a profound lack of goodwill is shown for a person that he absolutely despises with every fiber of his being.
In summary, nothing that Donald J. Trump ever does will be treated fairly and objectively by NB. That faculty does not lie within him.
Oh, he'll throw out some "boob bait for bubbas" praise every now and then in an attempt to obfuscate his true sentiments, but it's simply too transparent and inadequate to ever compensate for such pervasive hatred.
Only Saint Cruz could ever be worthy of NB's enthusiastic support. Nobody else— certainly not Donald J. Trump— could ever rise to the level of being treated fairly, or as anything more than a necessary evil.
It's really too bad, because once upon a time NB had a lot to contribute to the conservative conversation here. But every salient point he tries to make is irretrievably subsumed in lingering bitterness and knee-jerk contrarianism. I see no graciousness whatsoever, and such negative attitudes make it very difficult to persuade anyone, even when a point might be valid.
JMHO, of course...
Put the crack pipe down and get your facts straight: President-elect Trump's Education Department nominee is staunchly against Common Core.
