We dont care who you are, stated Koskinen, Whether you go to church, or dont go to church. Koskinen explained audits occur when something pops up in your tax returns they find suspicious. Its basically all about the numbers. Party or religious affiliation is not part of any IRS audit red flag, according to Koskinen.

They are the folks who have the means and ability to push the letter of the law to its limit when it comes to taxes owed...
EVERYONE should legally try to pay as little taxes as possible, unless you enjoy seeing your hard-earned money go to waste.
Those in Trump’s income bracket get audited every year. It is standard operating procedure for the IRS. This story is false.
Riiiiight, and all Chrysler dealers got the same treatment in 2009, and Hillary's not being shielded by the Justice Dep't...
The headline is a lie. (1) The IRS head did not call Trump a liar, and (2) he did not say that Trump’s taxes were highly suspicious. The differences between the actual words and the headline implication are quite significant.
Well, in the private sector, a person would probably be fired for publicly divulging something personal like this. But since it is the IRS/government, maybe he’ll get a little talking-to and a few days of paid administrative leave.
So when can we expect Hillary! to be audited with same zeal as Trump?
Where did you get that website from. I have to disinfect my computer now.
“Isnt it illegal for an IRS employee to publicly divulgean individuals tax details?”
26 USC Section 7213 states, in part:
(a) Returns and return information
(1) Federal employees and other persons
It shall be unlawful for any officer or employee of the United States or any person described in section 6103(n) (or an officer or employee of any such person), or any former officer or employee, willfully to disclose to any person, except as authorized in this title, any return or return information (as defined in section 6103(b)). Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable upon conviction by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution, and if such offense is committed by any officer or employee of the United States, he shall, in addition to any other punishment, be dismissed from office or discharged from employment upon conviction for such offense.

Friends, can you find it in your hearts to donate $5 or $10 or $35,000,000 to the
“LET’S FLY KOSKINEN TO VENEZUELA SO THEY CAN EAT HIM FUND”
So that starving socialist children in Venezuela can have a rat to eat?
This is the same dude who played stupid when “testifying” before Congress.
I may have missed it but I’ve never heard of George Soros, Tom Steyer or any of the other left wing Billionaires being audited. I think the Clintons may have been audited and had to pay the IRS but otherwise no penalties or probation.
The Greenville Gazzette? Sheesh!!
It is stories like this that convince Glenn Beck that Donald Trump is the devil.......
It's an editorial. The IRS chief didn't say that -- it's the author's "interpretation" of what the IRS chief said.
Here's what he actually said:
Read the article for the entire context: it was in response to Trump's claim he is being audited because he is a "strong Christian".
However, I will also correct one assertion: you don't have to have anything "unusual" or "suspicious" in your return to be audited. The IRS randomly selects returns for the "Taxpayer Compliance Monitoring Program" or TCMP. This is known as a "super audit". The IRS Agent goes through the return line-by-line, and checks the taxpayer's documentation for everything. The purpose is to measure overall compliance with tax laws.
It's very rare, but it happens. I've been through one, and the result was "no change". However, it cost me about $1,000 for my accountant to represent me.
At the outset, the IRS agent admitted it was almost always a waste of his time, but he had to do it.
Upsetting that the IRS Commissioner had ANYTHING to say about anyone in particular. He should have had a simple, “I am unable to comment on any particular person, group, or business taxes.” Instead, here he is suggesting a problem. Whether Trump or any of us, he’s playing games. And the IRS wonders why no one trusts them? Impeach the bastard.
Trigger words were ‘tea party’ (of course) and ‘patriot’.
To the IRS:
Take that job and shove it!!! Your nothing but two bit hacks, kindergarten drop outs, lives in Mommy’s basement, don’t have a social life because your smelly, and look like a fool...
WE the American Voters, don’t give a rat’s butt what Trump did, done or is doing...when he gets in there, your butts are leaving!!!
Hey Chief!
Have you considered auditing Hillary and the Clinton Family Crime Foundation?
America AND ITS CITIZENS saw its MOST prosperous years when there was NO income tax, from America’s birth to 1948. Gov’t was MUCH smaller, and tariffs funded it.
Let’s remember, our founding fathers DID NOT CREATE this income tax.
Income tax is morally reprehensible and stunts growth. It was instituted by communists. It’s called the PROGRESSIVE income tax, and it is!
