Scientists from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Glasgow University injected mice with a protein called IL-33 on a daily basis, which resulted in a full reversal in cognitive decline and the symptoms of Alzheimers in a matter of days.
Though the tests have so far been limited to rodents, the team believes it possible that the same technique could be used to treat human patients.
The mice had been bred to exhibit the same kinds of symptoms as those of Alzheimers, though within a week were brought back to their prior cognitive capacities with the protein injections. IL-33 is a protein naturally present in the body, which has been linked to a reduction in the amyloid plaque development that causes Alzheimers and its devastating symptoms.

[[Get your ulcers healed.]]
It’s not that simple- the ulcers are due to a health condition- not bacteria- i think probably the cabbage most likely works on the bacteria- but I’ll check into it to see if it actually works on the sores-
Before my husband died of A in 2005 I had tried a number of vitamins, minerals, and herbs. We also used Aricept, and Respiradol when he became paranoid. I don’t know that it slowed down his A by much but it did maintain his general physical condition, so that he only developed incontinence 6 months before, a seizure 4 months before, and at 3 months I was making plans for a walker or wheel chair. He collapsed 3 weeks before he died, but I was able to bring him home from the hospital and rehabilitation nursing home for his last week. He had wanted to die at home. I had figured he would die quickly when he could no longer swallow his vitamins. Swallowing issues started 2 or 3 months before death.
In the last 3 years he could not find his way home, and could only remember for 15 seconds. He was an active man and kept trying to get me up to go to work every day. We were both retired. I had some land with a tin roof picnic shelter on some land in the country. I decided to close it in and make a cabin. He loved helping me do that. We had no electricity. I would measure and mark a board, like a 2 x 8 or 2x6, start a cut and then he would saw it through with the hand saw. I would also have him hold boards and start a big nail. Then he would finish hammering it in. People underestimate how much a person can do even with almost no memory if it is continuous movement and they are willing.

Overexposure to carbohydrates and glucose is suspected to be responsible for the deterioration of the myelin sheath protecting the nerves in the brain, which is suspected of being implicated in a variety of neurological disorders ranging from diabetes, dementia and Alzheimers’s Disease to Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, and other neurological maladies. Changing the diet from a reliance upon glucose to a reliance upon ketones derived from fat for daily caloric and nutrient requirements has anecdotal and research suggesting these disorders can be mitigated or reversed to some extent. The use of coconut oil with nutritional ketosis is alleged to reverse some short term memory loss and dementia.
I am sorry for your sister’s condition but am very hopeful for the two of you and will say a few prayers now that the procedure helps.
You are a good, strong woman and I am sorry for your loss.
I believe you.
the Mediterranean diet has worked great for my aunts and uncles. Living and thriving into 80 and beyond.
They don’t call it that. They just eat what their parents ate in Italy. Lot of veggies, especially beans, and some meat.
An aspect of mental health that no one has brought up is the non-nutritional choices. Take a walk, garden, make lists of things from memory, do crossword and other puzzles, learn something new or relearned from the past, take notes and review them when you read something. Etc.
It’s true. My grandparents were broke as kids and young adults in Italy/Sicily. Ate what the land gave them plus some meat as a treat.
You are an angel.
“I also read something about maple syrup helping to reverse Alzheimers”
That’s interesting. My cousin has a big “sugar bush” operation in western NY state so I’ll have him send me some of his syrup. A lot of the families around there have tapped their trees and had their own sugar bush operations for generations. Their minds are amazing to the end. I wonder of the 100% maple sugar candy will do the same thing.
A friend of mine now claims that turmeric is helpful in cancer. I never know about these claims.
I’ve read a lot about it for the brain. it stops the creation of tau, which is the current favorite word among neurologists, who say it causes Alzheimer’s, dementia, etc.
I have no idea about cancer. But the incidence rate in india is lower and they use this a lot.
And a saint!!!
I offered powdered turmeric to my friend but she said she needed the actual plant. These can be bought in Chinese markets - they look like orange worms or caterpillars.
Take a few days off every now and then. It's hard to get the right balance of minerals with most supplements. People will end up accumulating too much iron, or copper or sometimes zinc. 3-4 days off can give your body time to readjust.
