Your logic is sensible, based an a spectrum of best to worst. Those like JG have a different criteria - keeping the status quo is their goal; the party in power doesn’t matter.
You know? I actually agree with you. I don’t think any of them would. They’re in it for themselves and whatever semblance of credibility and fame/money they can garner.
To my mind, they are just prevailing pundit whores selling their ‘wares’ to the best paying customer.

Part of Trump’s political problem is that he repulses major portions of not just one but two wings of the Republican party: the very conservative/social conservative wing and the Rockefeller Republican/GOPe wing. His path to victory is to thread his way through and energize the middle of the Party, plus draw in enough independents and conservative Democrats to make up the shortfall. He may accomplish this, but it is a narrow path and I doubt that he succeeds.

That's just the problem. Goldberg isn't anti-establishment. He is one of the establishment elite, just like many of those rooting Cruz on are establishment elites.

I also will never come around to supporting Trump. However if the voting choice is between Trump/Clinton or Trump/Sanders will vote for him in a heartbeat.
I agree..probably the worst candidate position wise in republican history..probably the least informed in history...but still better than Hillary

Oh, Lucianne’s little boy has a lot more to learn about the real world.
But he is also crafty, and all he is doing here is positioning himself as a reliable anti-Trump talking head - Jonah shows up on time and sits still for makeup. Nothing more, nothing less.
However, here's hoping someone enrages him the wrong way on camera soon - he has a shitty temper.

Goldberg is part of the Never Trump crowd. If the country ceased to exist, Goldberg would be fine with it as it would mean Trump could never become President.
