Whole Foods is a nice store with pleasant employees and excellent employee programs. Does it cost more than other stores? Not for the things it carries.

If you want to go out to buy your basic breakfast cereal or whatever, go to your local Publix or Winn Dixie. If you want something a little different, go to Whole Foods.

Publix and Whole Foods both treat their employees well. (I don’t know about Winn Dixie; they may do the same, it’s just that nobody there has ever mentioned it to me.)

Obama tried to shut down Whole Foods because they resisted Obamacare because the Whole Foods health plan was better for their employees. So think about that.

It just depends on what you want to buy and what quality you’re looking for, and if you want to buy something unusual, of course you’re going to pay more.

Only reason I’ve ever gone to it is because they have an excellent selection of beers and ales from local microbreweries on tap that you can take home in a growler.

True story: I was getting ready to have some family over for dinner, and went to their (excellent) butcher counter looking for some veal chops.

The butcher, and two customers turned, and looked at me aghast as if I had asked for fresh butchered puppy.

“Sir, our store is cruelty free.” Spake the butcher. Last time I bothered with them.

The Piggly Wiggly has everything I need.
Lately the Food Lion has been my goto, well, simply because its on the righthand side of the road on my way home.

It seems more like a Bernie Sanders kind of joint. “Bernie for Gulag” would more likely piss the nutters off.

No, the “butter” process is a bit more involved than that. I’ve done from scratch peanut butter, a lot of work, not very tasty. I’ll continue to buy my cashew butter, as I have better things to do with my time than make bad imitations of good products easily purchased.

It’s expensive but fantastic healthy animal meat selection. Decent yogurt and other fermented food sections. If there were one here I would go for the meat and fermented products that I don’t make myself.

Feedlot animals aren’t healthy to eat. You can source WF meat to their farms, local farms you can visit or study.

I quite like Whole Foods

So do I. There aren't any around here. I miss the high-quality salads, whole grain breads, cheese variety, other unique foods. The people watching is fun.

the whites who dress in ethnic garb to show the world they embrace diversity.

There's is nothing more disgusting (to me) than a white female Neo-hippy wearing dreadlocks.

Except for a white male Neo-hippy wearing dreadlocks.

You are exaggerating. I used to shop there when I had $ - was in Los Angeles WF a couple times a week. No one got mad if you didn’t donate, and you can walk right past the petition people easily, no prob.

However, the parking lot was the only place I ever saw a Boxer for Senate bumper sticker.

I am a conservative American but I still love good quality food. I would never wear Birkenstocks but I love freedom and I am ok with other people wearing and doing what they want. I don’t insist everyone be like me. I hate snobs on any side of the aisle. I love freedom and that is why I am here.

Ah. I see.

As for the B.sprouts...try this:
Halve them. Put all in a big bowl. Put in 1-2 Tbl. of olive oil and 1-2 Tbl. of balsamic vinegar. Salt and pepper...about 1/2 tsp each.

Toss 'em to coat, place on a cookie sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Cook at 450-500 in oven for 15 mins. Yummo.

Publix and Whole Foods both treat their employees well.

Including "sex change" surgeries, which every employee pays for?
