Don’t you mean ‘Whole Paychecks’?

That would imply that I’ve ever crossed the threshold into one in the past. That would be NO.

I’m not a fan of the trendy and superficial lifestyle.

I call it “Whole Paycheck” too. I went to one with an ex in DC once and spent 38$ on 5 items.

Just drop three spears of asparagus in a jar of water and slap on a $6 price tag.

I wandered into one to see what the fuss was all about many years ago. I was underwhelmed, and my wallet puckered up.

There’s some good stuff there. And weird fake hippies. But that’s good, they go often enough to keep the store profitable so a couple times a year when I need my cashew butter fix it still exists.

Whole Paycheck, indeed. However, I quite like Whole Foods. They always donate to our orchestra/ non-profit fundraiser - great, beautiful platters, so graciously. Their breads are extraordinarily beautiful and baked in-house. I don’t shop there regularly because it’s too expensive, but here’s to Whole Foods. It’s capitalism in action.

I really want a gluten free, fair trade, (and I forget the last condition) hair brush!

We have Sprouts in our area now; more of a produce-oriented “natural” store. Their produce prices are pretty awesome. And lately, they’ve had very good fruit pies for $3.99.

Yep. Whole Foods is great. We don’t shop there for our staples but they usually have excellent produce. Love the cheese selection along with the baked breads too.

I like Whole Foods but don’t actually buy much there. The quality and selection are Top Notch but the pricing is just way, way, way higher than you would pay for similar quality at places like Sprouts or even the pricey Mothers in Southern California.

So I’m sticking to Sprouts and the wifey is sticking to Mothers.

But Whole Foods has just opened a great store in Brea, CA and are doing Land Office business. Hard to find parking at mid-day but certainly worth a visit.

They have good bread, for which you pay a lot of bread.

I agree.

I have only been to Whole Foods once in a great while. And wouldn’t shop there for regular grocery shopping. But, if that store has its adherents, and the business model works for them, what can we say; it is truly capitalism in action. If they are delivering products wanted by their customers, and the price is ok with their customers, that’s what capitalism is all about.

Me either. We do have a Lassen’s here that has groceries too and I go in there once in awhile if I want something out of the ordinary. They’re guaranteed to have it. It’s full of hippies so I am in and out lol

As I recall the CEO of Whole Foods severely criticized Obamacare during the healthcare debate.

Some liberal customers were boycotting Whole Foods for a time over his comments.

Well, while he may cater to liberal leaning customer base, he’s also a businessman, and realizes that government regulation and government control hurt any business.
